Latest from the not-so-swift vets

Point to order rjung, that is wrong, he is only peddling his rhetorical points, when pressed, it is obvious Scylla doesn’t think the swifters are so much reliable either. Of course, many readers would get mistaken that he is serious, none can be seriously keeping the view that “Kerry did service with honor” and “Kerry lied for his medals” at the same time, and now pointing out that “he was a traitor” for trying to end a stupid war that even the few living organizers admit it was stupid.

Rhetoric can muddle the chances for getting to the truth though.

Okay, see if you can follow this. Take your time. The Nixon tapes show that Nixon recruited John O’Neill to (as Charles Colson told Nixon,) “destroy this young demagogue” (Kerry.) Do you seriously think, if Nixon had a solid case against John Kerry for illegally negotiating with a foreign government, that he would have passed up a chance to prosecute? Nonsense. He would have jumped at the chance.

Someone help me out here.

Why would a foreign power negotiate with a private citizen? Wouldn’t that power know that a private citizen has no authority to deal?
What am I missing? What the hell could they negotiate?

It’s quite simple, really. Any expression of dissent, or implied lack of complete faith in The Leader, during a Time of War, undermines the purpose and moral fiber of the nation. A true, right thinking American keeps his doubts unto himself, lest he offer aid and comfort to the enemy.

The best way to protect our freedom to criticize and dissent is to never, under any circumstances, actually excercise those freedoms. This plays directly into the hands of The Enemy.

You missed the update. The charge of “negotiation” is no longer operational, and has been deleted. The correct charge is “influence”. “Influence” is defined as “influence”. Proof of “influence” consists of: being accused of “influence” by the right-thinking patriots of Free Republic, or its representatives.

Any questions?

Can I make this simple suggestion: if someone does something, and it’s well known they did it, and they are under a great deal of scrutiny from their political enemies (who are the government) and they are not charged, they probably didn’t do anything illegal.

Just a thought.
