Earlier in the thread someone said they found Norm McDonald as the Colonel in the KFC commercials creepy. The newest ones with George Hamilton (extra crispy indeed!) make me long for the days of Norm McDonald. ---

I’m having a love/hate relationship with the current Toyota commercial. I love that it has [this actor](http://jimhanna.net/), but I hate the part where the lady is asked to sign the contract and she says, “I can’t. I literally can’t _even_.” I understand the phrase she is using, but the misuse of literally still gets my goat! :mad: ---

I don’t recall which specific truck this one is for, but it includes a line that includes the words “perfessional” and “percision engineering.” Apparently the voice-over guy can’t pronounce _pro_fessional and _pre_cision. I get aggravated every time I hear it. ---

Any of the BMO commercials where idiots are amazed that they’re talking to a real person or that someone is helpful/friendly are awful, but the one with the smug little Cranky Sue in the blue sweater is the worst. Quit being such a bitch and finish your transaction. Does anyone really care whether or not customer service people are genuinely nice or just being nice because that’s their job? Jesus. ---

Heck, I have a couple of screen caps of her on my desktop. Now, the Bon Jovi “Turn Back Time” commercial, to quote Ebert, “Hated it, hated it, hated it…” I’ve gotten so quick in my reflexes that I often mute it before I hear anything. Dennis ---

I wasn’t being facetious - I grew up in a world where \*aggravated \*was a nicer way of saying _pissed off_. Dunno if it was a family thing, a regional thing, or a facetious thing. ---

Any commercial that uses kids for a non-kid-specific product, particularly when the child is set up to appear smarter than any of the adults. Around here, the home improvement companies are particularly bad. Geico has a commercial with kids playing “Marco Polo” in a swimming pool with merchant-explorer Marco Polo. Behind Marco Polo is a… llama? :dubious: For those who had to work in a cannery and thus never went to elementary school, Marco Polo was known for introducing much of Europe to Central Asia and China via stories of his travels, centuries before the discovery of the New World. ---

Dr. Pepper has resumed those ads with the smirking elf who sings falsetto and which causes me to dive recklessly for the mute button on my remote. I really don’t know why falsetto bothers me so much but it does. I have never drunk Dr Pepper, but I suppose I should buy one so I can then boycott it.
