Hello and thank you kindly for reading this post…

I know there are some Latin scholars on this board, so I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to help me in coming up with a realistic Latin translation of the following phrase:

_Through Age (or Time) Flower_

I’m also looking for a similar phrase in Cornish, but think my luck may be out there…

Many thanks
OB

My suggestion for the Latin one would be _Flore per tempora_ or, if you want to stress the time span and give it a feeling of eternity, _Flore per saecula_.

Is Flower a verb or a noun? If the former, you’ll want _Floreat per saecula_.

Latin, hell. Translate it into English first.

Sorry - didn’t mean to be so esoteric. I meant something along the lines of ‘to bloom with age’ (or more precisely ‘through the ages’ - Schnitte was correct in assuming I wanted to suggest eternity) - if that makes any more sense…

Semper floreat

(Which is the name of the student newspaper at the University of Quensland – [http://www.semper.uq.edu.au/](http://www.semper.uq.edu.au/) )

_Floreat_ would be the third person singular (“it may flower”). If you want the second person, it needs to be _flore_ or _floreas_.

Cornish (Kemmyn):

I’ll suggest _bleujyowa der an blydhynyow_, “blooming (verb-noun) + through + the + years.” You could substitute _oesow_ “ages” if you like. I think you might be able to say _byttydh bleujyowa_ (ever-blooming), but I’m less sure about the syntax. I’ll refer you [here](http://www.omniglot.com/writing/cornish.htm) for pronunciation.
