The comic strip, that is. I thought of you the instant I saw the last panel, although I must confess I had to do a search to remember exactly who posted this:

If Sally Forth is the master of the wry look, FBOFW is the master of the look of goggle-eyed amazement over the simplest of ideas. The final panel of at least half the strips goes something like this:
>
> (Elizabeth’s friend): “Well, Liz, not everyone is as well off as your family”.
> (Elizabeth): (Expression of goggle-eyed amazement!)
>
> or
>
> (Dr. Patterson’s assistant): “Well, Dr. Patterson, women have a different perception of the world than men do”
> (Dr. Patterson): (Expression of goggle-eyed amazement!)\*\*

So I just thought I’d give you a heads-up that today, 9/2/03, Lynn benefits us with yet another EoG-EA.

Goggle-eyes aside, it’s abuot the only strip that’s about real people in real situations: the kids go through real problems, and–get this–actually get _older_, which I thought was against comics rules.

Not _all_ comics. The characters in _Gasoline Alley_ also age. Skeezix’s birthday is celebrated every Valentine’s Day. (Does this mean Uncle Walt will eventually die?)

(Looks at strip in question)

Yeeaauuggh! That’s it!

You know, I hadn’t seen today’s strip but after reading your post of course I had to. I’m flattered someone remembered one of my posts, though.

I know this strip has its fans, I just don’t care for it. It’s simply a matter of taste. It does get points for at times featuring a pet rabbit, though.

I remembered it because that device gets on my nerves too! I am a fan of the strip, but oftentimes, it’s in the love-to-hate-it sense.
