Oh PLEASE tell me the world works that way! I have a LONG list of people and organizations over which I wish to exercise such absolute power!
Stand by, this may take a while.

Agreed.
As for “Stand by, this may take a while[,]” at first I was going to leave it at “I’m wai-i-i-i-i-ting” but think it’s better to presume it’s just snark.
He absolutely has the right to do that. He can exercise that right by hanging up on her.
I’d like the IRS to stop contacting me. They keep trying to extort money from me!
And here I thought I was being so clever.
I was wondering why Peter Morris was familiar. I remember reading some of the Ask the Randi $1M challenge applicant thread back then.
His logic and reasoning are, umm,…interesting.
Not picking on you, but just using your words. Could she not have just attended a council meeting where the subject was brought up and observed the conversation between DeLauter and Shreve (and the other woman)? She is the political reporter after all and I would think covering council meetings would be part of that.
I’m assuming the irony of this post escapes you.
Has there BEEN a council meeting at which the topic was brought up? I missed that (evidently, the county recently switched forms of government, and those who used to be commissioners are now council members).
I actually feel stupider after reading Peter Morris’s posts. I really hope he’s a troll.
I don’t know, but it would stand to reason that would be the place to discuss the parking issue. At least to me.
I don’t think there was one. At any rate, while such a meeting might be a logical place to discuss, official meetings will never be (and shouldn’t be) the only place where information for a story is acquired. This story just happened to originate after a (different) council member complained about his key card not working post-charter change, etc., etc. (There isn’t much news in that county, I gather.)
