Pringles are potatoe “crisps” because the potato chip manufacturers were up-in-arms about them being called “chips” when they most clearly weren’t made with the same slice-and-fry method of a chip. They chip manufacturers didn’t want a new product on the shelf causing any buyer confusion. The “crisp” moniker is the result of their outrage. ---

All my life, my one great dream has been to find a stacked potato crips offering from America’s snack makers - something better than Pringles. Something that wasn’t advertised by a guy with a big bushy mustache. Something just a bit thicker, a bit more salty, something served in an ergonomic plastic container rather than a banal cardboard tube. Now, at last, that snack is here. It is a joyous day! ---
