Very convenient - boss walked thru the gate right behind me, so as we walked in, I told him. He wants 2 weeks, dammit, but he wants to talk to me later today. So we shall see. If I do have to come in for 3 days in the following week, at least I’ll have a long weekend before starting the week after. We shall see. Meanwhile, long list left on my desk by Jason, so I’ve got work today. Yay! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, brekkied, and purtified, so no _YAWN_. ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 65 and sunny for the day, a typical late Winter/early Spring day in south Jawja. I am slackin’ a little bit before headed to irk cause I need to make a stop at one of my local places which is on my way to the orifice but does not open until eight. Then I get to go to the orifice and play in paperirk. Rah. **red** OYKW had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for a ‘nanner split, so, yeah, for us it could be called a “date night” bein’ as we pretty much are homebodies. 😃 OK, gonna go snoop a little on teh intartoobz and then off to irk! **FCM,** congrats on the new job…from the way FCD describes it, you may find what you wished for (more work) to be one of those wishes you’d like to take back…hope not, and hope it all goes well for you. **Sari,** good news on the mortgage, budgets are always the hardest thing in life and sounds like you’ve got a good deal. Went out to lunch with the Branch yesterday for B-Day celebrations, and we went to P.F. Chang’s. I don’t eat Chinese (I am a very fussy eater) so I asked for the dessert menu and ended up with a 5-layer, massive hunk of chocolate cake…had to take it home with me and it made up most of dinner. Not healthy, I know, but chocolate… Also got my new glasses, things seem just a bit sharper with them, but that could be simply imagination, but since insurance picked up the costs, I ain’t complaining. Dry today but the rains are due to return on Thorsday. Press on. ---

Conga rats, **moooom** - let’s hope the boss settles for less than two weeks and gets over the sulks. It’s nice to have work to do for a change though. I am setting up evaluation questionnaires for a bunch of modules, the system takes forever and it keeps breaking. I am bored with this game! Of course, I could abandon the questionnaires and go to the departmental meeting instead. Which one is the lesser of the two evils, I wonder? ---

I have a food hangover. Fluffy, neighbor I, friend A, and I went out to dinner last night to a steak and chop house that makes Peter Luger’s (Ruth’s Chris, Smith & Wollensky) look like a diner, and Outback like McDonalds. Fluffy and I discovered it over the summer quite by accident because the seafood place we wanted to eat at had a two hour wait. A ordered it, and the bone was easily a full foot long and two inches wide. Someone at the next table ordered one as well. Fluffy was in awe as she watched him devour the entire thing. They call this “prime rib”. It’s a brontosaurus chop. I had a scallops appetizer, filet mignon wellington, and a pear and apple tart. OH. MY. GAWD. We also shared their Duck Fat Fries, and sweet potato brulée. The food was, and I am not exaggerating, orgasmic. When you visit me on Lawn Guylindt, we will go there. ---

Awake, but not up and functional yet. Oldest son left for a trip to some festival with Wind Symphony. He’ll be gone until Friday. Youngest son is having breakfast. I’ll have to haul myself out of bed to take him to school in a few minutes. Middle son has no school or work today and is still asleep. I have a busy day ahead of me and am enjoying my last few minutes of laziness before it all begins. ---

Blurf! I had a totally blonde morning when leaving the house this morning. I walked off with only my purse (sans phone) and a cup of coffee. No lunch, no phone, no insulin kit. :smack: I picked up a salad at Mickey D’s across the street. Sweetie didn’t get a text (cause who the hell memorizes phone numbers anymore?) and my glucose will likely be a little out of whack when I test before supper. If I didn’t have afternoon meetings, I would have left at noon.
