Oh ok. Yes, absolutely correct. But i was referring to being TOLD he/she was adopted, multiple times, yet having no clear memory of the conversation.
ETA this:
I would love to give you a definitive and clear answer. But this is not possible. However, there are many factors contributing to the reason of my thought. One of them is: I have been told that I was adopted by different people throughout my life. I have difficulty accessing my clear vivid memories. For some reason, I cannot point out a single person who told me this. But I remember being told that I was adopted.
If the OP has no clear memory, his actual parents can’t/won’t confirm any adoption, with no actual evidence to go on, no names, dates, paperwork or signatures (all actually required for a legal adoption!) then what possible difference could it make whether he was adopted or not?
For all intents and purposes it’s a non reality and never happened.
In the eyes of the law, if you can’t show evidence it actually happened, then it didn’t!
So NO, you have NOT been adopted. Clearly.
If you’re still convinced, on zero evidence, then you should seek therapy for your delusion, I think.
Agreed. There seems to be no grounds for anyone to believe that the OP was really adopted. At least as we understand adoption.
A thought occurs to me that he may have been teased at some point. I have heard people say, “You must have been adopted” when they mean that ‘you’ are in some way different, better looking, more intelligent, than your actual parents.
