I third Lib - it annoys the heck out of me.

I also read the Weight Watcher’s board - and a lot of times people describe how bad they feel by saying they are “gassy”, “greasy”, or “gross”. I don’t know why, but any of those three words just seems to get on my nerves.

I don’t use that bigot word that rhymes with trigger. I’m uncomfortable when someone else does, even if he’s talking about himself.

I usually don’t use French words. Pronounced in English, they make me look like a rube. Pronounced badly in French, they make me look like a pretentious rube. You go to all that trouble, and you’ve nothing to _chauffeur_ it.

\*\* While I certainly wouldn’t tell you that you shouldn’t be bothered by this, I do believe it’s proper use of the word. In this case, it’s not _suite_ being mis-pronounced, it’s actually _suit_, like a ‘suit of clothes’, you know, a collection of things that go together.

This one really irks me, too. In the same way, people who say “comfterble”. It’s com-fort-a-ble. Is it too much trouble to not only get all the syllables in, but also get them in the right order? While I’m on a rant, I must mention “liberry”. My hubby, an educated guy, says this. It’s lib **rar** y, foks! I used to have a grade school teacher who would say, “I’ve heard of a strawberry and I’ve heard of a blueberry, but I’ve never heard of a liberry!” I loved that woman!

**Tracks** are what trains run on, not “districts” or “position statements”.

**Fax** is a document sent over phone lines, not the plural of “fact”.

An **axe** is what you chop down a tree with, not the plural of “act”.

And so on.

Geez, I think **Kepi** may have it in for me…

The construction “seek to” as in W. saying “as a nation, we seek to find ways to settle our differences peacefully…” Very, very rarely can you seek to do something, you can seek it…but not **to** it. Grrr!

Underpants - just sounds dirty to me. Panties too.

BM - I hate the sound of that. Just say bowel movement, poop, crap, shit or _something_ else.

Felch

Jism or jiz- That just sounds awful. Especially when used as a verb. “He jizzed on me.” EEEEW!

Conscientious - The two “sh” sounds always flub me up & I sound like I’ve been drinking.

Vagina - Not sure why, it just sounds icky. It should have a soft pretty sounding name. Can’t think of a better term though. Whenever Mom would refer to a “woman’s _vagina_,” I’d just schkeeve. It’s like something too secret & dirty to talk about & I have no business thinking about it or mentally imaging it.

Cunt, twat\*, hole, bush, box, muff - when used to refer to a woman’s unspeakables (see above). Except these just sound crude.

- I love this word when used to refer to a person tho, especially when Brits say it.

Proctologist - Just sounds like something you wouldn’t want to be, or go see.

And etc. - That’s redundant!

The whole group of words like euphemism, metaphor, simile, allegory, parable, term, phrase, etc. - I know what they all are but will trip & stumble while using them in speech. I’m never quite sure I’m using the correct one.
