Depression is a life threatening illness that I have been battling for twenty years. I am better now than I was ayear ago, but I am still weak and tired from the fight. I’ve often felt that depression is a bit like madness. Instead of hallucinations that give you an incorrect view of objective reality, your internal, subjective reality is affected. Your whole life is improperly viewed as being far worse than it really is. yet, it is sometimes impossible to tell that your feelings are wrong. They are your feelings and no one elses. Who can say that they aren’t valid?
