Oh come on! Don’t you people realize yet that Trump is mockery-proof? He won’t change his ways because of your mockery, he’ll plow on regardless. And that is the ultimate proof that the mockery doesn’t mean a fucking thing to him. He expects it. It might cheer you to imagine him weeping into his pillow at night but you need to face reality: it ain’t so. ---

Personally, I applaud Trump for only responding to 0.01% of the mockery he routinely gets. The _way_ he responds to that 0.01% needs some work, though. ---

Overheard in the Trump White House: Trump - I am getting sick and tired of all these asshole comedians making fun of me. They need to respect the office of the President. What I want to do is get Congress to pass a law making it illegal to mock the President. Chief of Staff - Sir, I don’t think that’s a good idea. Americans are a freedom loving people, and even your party and supporters will oppose you if you try to pass a law limiting free speech. Trump - Well, you could be right, but we have to do something to show these losers that they can’t get away with it. What if I just use my wealth and power to secretly destroy their lives? Chief of Staff - Oh, absolutely, Sir. That one’s easy. We’ll get right on it. ---

Mocking Trump has absolutely NOTHING to do with getting him to change, or even getting him to notice that he’s being mocked. What on earth makes you think we mockers would ever embark on such a pointless path? Trump is himself, he has always been himself, and nothing/no one can ever change that. The audience for Trump mockery is everyone except Trump. His colleagues in Congress, his supporters, his staff, his family, and especially those who may be wondering if their whole-hearted commitment to him may have been a teensy-bit misplaced. The idea is to make them see that their idol has feet of clay, that he is not worthy of their admiration or loyalty. We must not let people get used to him, get used to the way he operates. I mean, everyone has already forgotten the “pussy-grabbing” comments that were so shocking when we first heard them. Pretty soon Trump will be coming to Christmas dinner with his underpants on his head and everyone will just see that as normal. Can’t let that happen. The guy is a satirist’s dream! How can you NOT mock him? Every day without exception, he provides some new eye-opening comment or behavior that begs to be made fun of. Mocking Trump isn’t really “mocking” him, because pointing out what an ignorant, self-centered, narcissistic, pea-brained dufus he is is simply revealing the truth about him. Politicians have always been the butt of jokes, stand-up routines, celebrity roasts, etc. But with Trump, you don’t have to make up anything! He provides the material, and it doesn’t even need any editing! ---

He does what in his mind he needs to do in order to accomplish his goals and he doesn’t give the least flying fuck whether anyone at all approves of it or likes him for it. That goes for those he does business with, his political opponents, his own fans or family, or anyone else. And he’s been that way through his entire career. Those who think Trump is hurt or bothered on a personal level by being mocked are the ones who are delusional.
