The superdelegates are looking long and hard at that.
And they’re also looking at where her wins were, by what margin, where her appeal is, etc. etc. At this point, debate is just spinning into a deluge of “my guy is better than yours, and I can show it!” Everyone’s going in circles and throwing out every number that they can come up with to show support for their candidate.

But really, it’s March. It doesn’t matter at this point. This is going to the convention, that much is clear. What do the next 5 months hold? More wheel spinning. More “my guy is better because of this,” trumped by “oh, but my guy has this and this,” followed by “well, mathematically, we can twist these numbers to look like this OR this.”

So, forgive me for stepping away from the trite rehashing of it all for the time being. I know where I stand and, honestly, that’s _all_ I care about right now. My mind is made up, barring some crazy Dean-scream, and the majority of people arguing these points have theirs made up, too. We’ll talk turkey in August when the dogs come out to fight.

Interesting. In all these threads in all these weeks, I haven’t seen one single post from you explaining why your candidate is, in fact, the better choice. Just a bunch of flailing and ranting against Obama and his supporters. I’ve even just given you a blank slate on which to post your candidate’s accomplishments (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=458695), but now I see you’re planning on running away with your tail between your legs. Too bad. It might have been interesting to see how you would respond.

:dubious: You’re under the mistaken impression that I’m under some obligation to answer your questions, when in fact, I’m not. You know what, though? Neither were any of the Obama supporters who chose to respond so feverently in support of their candidate.

It’s not my job to persuade anyone why my candidate is, in fact, the better choice. The decision to support a candidate is a single voter’s, alone, and is best left up to their own educated research. I did mine, and I came up with my decision.

Most of my dislike for Obama’s supporters is that they’re pretty rabid in their conquest to paint Hillary as the axis of evil and put their guy in the White House. It’s his job to present his ideas, and he’s done so on his website. I found it lacking.

Your attempt to appeal to my similar rabidness is falling on deaf ears, though. I honestly don’t care about the back and forth mudslinging popular in the dozens of threads on this board; i pick my candidate based on their ideals, and how successful I think they’ll be in accomplishing their goals in the next four years. Ergo, I’m not as voracious as those who will pop up every five seconds to throw in _something_ in defense of their candidate. Perhaps one of the other Hillary supporters on the board will fill in your blank slate with their own personal reasons. Or better yet, if you want a list of Hillary’s accomplishments, you can research them yourself. I can’t think of any good reason to do it for you, because the only reason you would want them is either to a) actually consider them in determining your choice for candidate (unlikely, as it’s clear your mind is already made up), or b) to attack each and every one of them and turn the whole line of discussion into yet another pissing match.

Mine, though, are my own, and much like no Obama supporter was ever taunted into answering my questions, neither am I. I’ll just run off now and play with my tail.

[I did](http://www.senate.gov/~clinton/senate/legislation/), and she’s done little more significant than naming post offices. This is the entire list of all the Legislation she’s introduced that has made its way into Public Law:
In the 107th Congress [ul][li]S.584 : A bill to designate the United States courthouse located at 40 Centre Street in New York, New York, as the “Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse”.[/li][li]S.1422 : A bill to provide for the expedited payment of certain benefits for a public safety officer who was killed or suffered a catastrophic injury as a direct and proximate result of a personal injury sustained in the line of duty in connection with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.[/li][li]S.1622 : A bill to extend the period of availability of unemployment assistance under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act in the case of victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.[/li][li]S.1892 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 375 Carlls Path in Deer Park, New York, as the “Raymond M. Downey Post Office Building”.[/li][li]S.2496 : A bill to provide for the establishment of investigative teams to assess building performance and emergency response and evacuation procedures in the wake of any building failure that has resulted in substantial loss of life or that posed significant potential of substantial loss of life, and for other purposes.[/li][li]S.2918 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 380 Main Street in Farmingdale, New York, as the “Peter J. Ganci, Jr. Post Office Building”.[/ul] In the 108th Congress[ul][_]S.1241 : A bill to establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site in the State of New York, and for other purposes.[/li][li]S.1266 : A bill to award a congressional gold medal to Dr. Dorothy Height, in recognition of her many contributions to the Nation.[/li][li]S.1425 : A bill to amend the Safe Drinking Water Act to reauthorize the New York City Watershed Protection Program.[/li][li]S.2838 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 10 West Prospect Street in Nanuet, New York, as the “Anthony I. Lombardi Memorial Post Office Building”.[/li][li]S.2839 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 555 West 180th Street in New York, New York, as the “Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda Post Office”. [/ul]In the 109th Congress[ul][_]S.272 : A bill to designate certain National Forest System land in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico as a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System.[/li][li]S.1283 : A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to establish a program to assist family caregivers in accessing affordable and high-quality respite care, and for other purposes.[/li][li]S.2376 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 80 Killian Road in Massapequa, New York, as the “Gerard A. Fiorenza Post Office Building”.[/li][li]S.2722 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 170 East Main Street in Patchogue, New York, as the “Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy Post Office Building”.[/li][li]S.3613 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2951 New York Highway 43 in Averill Park, New York, as the “Major George Quamo Post Office Building”.[/li][li]S.3716 : A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 100 Pitcher Street in Utica, New York, as the “Captain George A. Wood Post Office Building”.[/li][li]S.3910 : A bill to direct the Joint Committee on the Library to accept the donation of a bust depicting Sojourner Truth and to display the bust in a suitable location in the Capitol.[/ul] That’s _it_. ALL of it. [/li]
I can’t think of any good reason to do it for you, because the only reason you would want them is either to a) actually consider them in determining your choice for candidate (unlikely, as it’s clear your mind is already made up), or b) to attack each and every one of them and turn the whole line of discussion into yet another pissing match.

Technically, yes. But only because the the House version, HR 1216, was adopted. Arguably, the IDEA Senator Clinton proposed in the Senate was one that became law, even if from a parliamentary standpoint her specific bill died in committee.

Aren’t superdelegates obligated to chose the candidate they feel has the best chance of winning, and can’t they change at any time? Then if its generally agreed that HRC has a better chance in states such as Ohio than Obama, and both are a wash in the big Dem states, how could one in good conscience not change to HRC? The will of the people thing is pointless as the people are fickle, and their will on primary day might not be their will three months later.

I’ve seen this misconception a lot. It seems logical, but when you really think about it, it’s not true. What it comes down to is this:

Assuming the primary is highly correlated to the general elction, Clinton will do better in Ohio versus her national vote than Obama will do in Ohio versus his national vote. So if Obama can do better than Clinton nationwide, he could possibly do better than her in Ohio. Current polling suggests that Obama would do better nationwide in the general than Hillary.

And just like our friend **ElvisL1ves** , I notice you just skipped right on by the facts and straight into avoidance. Bravo!

I must add, however, in the interest of fairness to others reading this thread who might have a genuine interest in the facts of this critically important Presidential race, like **ArchiveGuy** for instance, I did, indeed, omit one piece of legislation that Hillary Clinton sponsored that became law, because she didn’t bother to provide a link to it on her own Senate website, so I went and hunted it down myself. Here it is:

In the 110th Congress[ul][\*]S.694 : A bill to direct the Secretary of Transportation to issue regulations to reduce the incidence of child injury and death occurring inside or outside of light motor vehicles, and for other purposes.[/ul]

Hmm. Limbaugh was apparently urging his dittoheads to go vote for Hillary in the Ohio primary (and will presumably do so in the remaining open primaries – Mississippi, North Carolina, Indiana, West Virginia, Montana and Puerto Rico).

The Republicans really want to run against Hillary.

Oh wow, thank you very much. I feel all humbled and proud and everything. :o Glad I could help! And just like our friend **ElvisL1ves** , I notice you just skipped right on by the facts and straight into avoidance. Bravo!

**Because I’m not here to defend Clinton’s Senate track record.**

There are two reasons I can come up with that you wanted someone to post it. Well, there you go. Go wild. 🙂
