I just received word that the night nurses think it is gastro but they are waiting on a doctor for official opinion. Nasty but better than some mysterious virus if you ask me, at least there is a clear map for care of gastro. ---

Thanks but it was easy for me Wolfie, I love the little tacker but don’t have all those parental feelings and hormones that stop me from also being able to be interested in the processes she had to undergo… though I will likely have nightmares about the lumbar puncture for a while. I fully expect her to harbour some seething resentment towards me for being with her and not protecting her from that and other nasties that will be spat at me at her 21st birthday party. 😉 Hopefully Leechbabe or Leechboy will be in a position to report in soon, we just needed to split up the informing role yesterday as time near a computer was so limited, leechy really wanted all her friends here to know but as I am a member she concentrated on places I have no access to and family and friends offline. Annie is in the right place, that I am sure about. ---

don’t make me get soppy on you Wolfie, it is never pretty. Fact is that the Leech clan give me far more than I could ever hope to return, acceptance and trust being very high on the long list. That said, I like hugs and they have the advantage of being two way so I hope you felt that squeeze yourself. ---

Leechy just called, doc agrees it is most likely gastroenteritis, Annie will be in for another 24 hours and they are running cultures. Leechy has come down with it too unfortunately. The bed for parents was pretty comfortable and the nurses are being great to both of them. Poor Leechboy is no doubt worrying from work again. ---

Gastro it is. Thank god for that, this unknown virus thing was getting to me. \*Warning - TMI Annie went through a really vile stage in the early morning with diarrohea so bad the nappy couldn’t contain it. The nursing staff no longer try to take her nappy off for anything (eg weighing) and we always wrap a towel around her before picking her up incase she starts leaking again. End TMI\* Annie has developed an addiction to [gastrolyte](http://www.echemist.com.au/paragonpharmacy/gastrolyter.asp) and screams blue murder when the gastrolyte bottle runs out. She even prefers it to her baby formula! Annie has eaten some solids today which I think is because they served pumpkin. Yes her pumpkin obsession continues, she wouldn’t eat anything else but something is better than nothing. Leechboy is staying with her all night tonight whilst I get some sleep as I’ve been at the hospital since 2am today. I left the hospital at about 6.30pm and went to my MIL’s for dinner and some TLC. Now I’m home and it is time for another long hot shower then a good long sleep. Tomorrow I’m going into work for as long as it takes me to do the payroll then back to the hospital. I am very lucky work is so close to the hospital.
