It has to be a joke, doesn’t it? Who would finance this? Who would watch? I can see fundamentalists thinking its a good idea, but Nicolas Cage will make it laughable. I can see people who like Nicolas Cage wanting to see it, but being horrified at he subject matter. ---

This has to be some sort of scam. A budget of 11 million? Cage usually gets paid in the high single digits for even his crappier movies, so that leaves just a couple million to pay the rest of the actors and actually make the film (which I guess explains using a stuntman as the director). Wikipedia mentions there was a long legal battle over the rights. Maybe this is one of those things where they make a movie just to protect their rights to the IP? But then why go to the expense of hiring Cage? ---
