Fucking Barstow. Tried to do a flat out high speed burn from LA to Vegas, but got caught by Gary Busey.
I think having it in Barstow would be worth it, just for the novelty.

All right, because of some changes at work regarding vacation time and the fact that we have to use most of it by October or else we lose it, I put in to get July 4th-15th off, so, regardless of where it’s at, Gr8tkat and I can only make it if it’s within those two weeks.

Hmmmm…Any weekend sounds good to me…except my birthday is July 31 and I’m not sure what plans the family will have for me that weekend. Maybe I can lure them with me, but that can have it’s +'s and -'s.

I nominate the weekend of July 9th and 10th in light of **Master Control** and **Yeticus Rex** ’s posts and my own tentative plan to fly home to Tennessee for the first time in almost two years to surprise my mother and sister on their birthdays.

I’d be hard pressed to get the ol’ boyfriend to leave town during Comic-Con. As in, it ain’t gonna happen.

Just a nitpick, it’s always in San Diego.
It’s a huge event, so I won’t be surprised if several SoCal Dopers plan on being there. Hell, I know people who come from out of state for it!
