Close order drill (marching) in the USMC starts off with the left foot in homage to the lefties.
Cadences usually start of with the left as well.
True story.

Two of my four kids are lefties. Both my husband and I have one lefty parent.
I’m a righty though. Guess I’m being secretly ruled by lefties. Wait, it’s no secret.

When I was in the first grade, my teacher told my parents she thought I should be changed so I’d be right handed. This did not sit well with my left handed father. 😃 Go Dad!

I was a leftie toddler and then I was converted to right-handedness in nursery school. I have left-handed tendencies, but do most things with my right hand.

Oh, man. I am not only a lefty, but I am the most disadvantaged (and therefore, most special) kind. 🆒
All of my gross motor skills favor my right hand. I throw, bat, bowl, and box righty.
All of my fine motor skills favor my left. I write, eat, play guitar, and masturbate lefty. (OK, that last one might be considered a gross motor skill.)
So instead of being a lefty batter or southpaw boxer, where my sinister tendencies would be an actual advantage, all I get is the downside of sinistrality: ink on the heel of my hand when I write, elbowing the person next to me at the dinner table, and a harder time finding guitars - since 90% of them are not for me.

Mostly lefty here. I write and throw left. Some other things i do rightie. For example I bat right and use a hammer mostly with the right hand.
I use to train aircraft mechanics. On one aircraft, DC-9, there was a job on one side of the aircraft which had to be done left handed. On the other only the right hand would work. So I’d put the lefties on the right side and righties on the left. Most lefties had no trouble doing the right-handed job. However most righties had one hell of a time. After a while I’d tell them that they had to do it left-handed and even then they had trouble. I found it quite fun!
