I don’t mean to attack you, because as I acknowledged above, in most societies and from a scientific standpoint, there’s nothing wrong with marrying one’s cousin. Still, though, I feel bound enough by our own societal prejudices that I would never consider marrying my cousin. So I’m still curious as to how you dealt with that. Did you run into people who knew and thought it was wrong? Did it seem a little odd to you? (You seem rather blasé about it.)
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t care what other people do, and marrying cousins would be awfully far down the list even if I did. But I’m still pretty curious about the whole situation.
