Legal/medical question from Law and Order

:smack: Apparently so. I don’t watch it, so I assumed it was set in New York, like the original Law & Order.

The answer is less clear under Maryland law. But it seems that Chiropractors are covered there too:

Section 4:301 defines Health Care Provider as “A person who is licensed, certified, or otherwise authorized under the Health Occupations Article or § 13-516 of the Education Article to provide health care in the ordinary course of business or practice of a profession or in an approved education or training program[.]” Chiropractors are licensed under the Health Occupations Article.

Here is a good general discussion of privilege law. http://www.epic.org/privacy/privileges/.

Umm, no, all the L&O shows are set in NYC. CSI is the one that has different cities on the different shows.

I give up.

sigh

All of the Law and Order programs are set in New York. The original is just a general-purpose cop show. SVU deals with sex crimes. CI deals with weird stuff like serial killers and the like.

CSI shows are set in three different cities: Las Vegas (the original), Miami (the one with David Caruso), and New York (the one with Gary Sinise).

“Homicide: Life in the Street” was set in Baltimore. There was a great deal of crossover with L&O, and when “Homicide” went off the air, the character of Det. John Munch (Richard Belzer) went over to L&O: SVU, where he is a regular character.
