Just went to our local Lego store yesterday with my Lego-mad 12-year-old for the second day of the rollout of the LOTR Legos. They had a trivia contest, a scavenger hunt (finding Uruk-hai figures which had been placed in unrelated Lego displays around the store) and the chance to build a Lego sword (didn’t look much like any of the movie swords). All of the LOTR kits looked pretty much like you see on the website. My son built a sword and bought the “arrival of Gandalf” kit, with Gandalf, the horsecart, and Frodo. The store also had some high-quality posters on display, including a large map of Middle-earth. One of the trivia contest questions threw us: “Who was the greedy Hobbit?” Our answer, after much cogitation, was Gollum (even through, yes, he was a Stoor and not a Hobbit). But according to the sales clerk’s preprinted contest sheet, _Pippin_ was the correct answer. He was curious, yes, and klutzy, but I never thought of him as “greedy”… ---

But…Stoors ARE hobbits. One of the three kinds of hobbits.
