Is _that_ what NKJV stands for? I wondered (briefly) but passed over it as I was more interested in the manipulations going on below.

As for the edition bit, what can I say? :o It was late, I was tired, and what I said wasn’t really what I meant. What I meant was that there are at least two versions of the Bible, Protestant and Catholic, and the two versions do not have the same number of chapters because the Catholic version has more books in it, so this little fable depended on the believer having the right version.

Now all I have to do is hope that I expressed things better this time. After all, it’s late, and I’m tired . . . 😃

Good Aussie Church slogan lark:

**Jesus is coming. Everyone look busy.**

But J, Christmas and Easter is when all the wannabees and newbies go to church. REEEEEL Christians go to 7AM services in March when the roads are flooded…🙂

there’s a church in my mom’s town that, I shit you not-is named
Coonneck, the church not the town.
sort of a 7th-day-adventist, mixed with the more conservative baptist, with just a pinch of east coast puritanism from the 1600s.

A couple of the members once decided my mother was a witch(she is a very devout church of christ-er).

they had one of those arrow-on-top signs with interchangeable letters on it.
one day it read “come in here some one will love you”
a friend of mine and I changed it in the middle of the night to
“see you in hell love”, and absconded with the rest of the letters for later use.
alas it was not to be, they took the sign away

oh well.

Perhaps one of the best of these messages my wife and I have ever seen was on the Wendell (NC) Free Will Baptist Church the Saturday before Palm Sunday: “Come to church this Sunday! Beat the Easter rush!”
