I think my mom wrote that last one. She instilled a very healthy fear of geese into me as a child based on a memorable incident in her childhood.

Other horrible washer/dryer messes:

Lip balm or lipstick
Ink pen

UGH

> If you are moving a bookshelf to shampoo the carpet, don’t try to save time by leaving the books in. The time spent at the ER with a wrenched back is longer than removing and reshelving the books ☹

This reminded me: when moving furniture, the most important thing is WEAR REAL SHOES. Shoes with backs, tops, soles, and make sure they’re firmly attached to your feet either by their design (i.e., loafers) or with laces, straps, etc. No flip-flops, sandals, scuffs, slides, bedroom slippers, canvas shoes with no laces, etc., and for God’s sake, never move furniture barefooted.

I learned that it is essential to pay careful attention to timing when giving one’s girlfriend her christmas goose.

If you live with dogs and/or cats (may also apply to toddlers): never assume it’s safe to take a step in any direction without first checking. This goes double in the kitchen.
