Let me be real clear: this message board does NOT need conservatives

Whew. Don’t let that get around.

I only have a small hope you’re being sincere, but this video does a powerful job explaining why statue removal isn’t virtue signaling but actually meaningful.

Why do all your thoughts on the left seem like you read one Tweet from one idiot and thought “all liberals everywhere think this exact same thing”?

I don’t get this. I’m certainly not a liberal, though perhaps moderate is a better description of me then conservative, right now. Why is the republican party my responsibility? I’ve voted for the dems twice (for president) in the last 5 years shouldn’t that make the dems my party? I think it would be better to ask me about the left wing wack jobs trying to take over my party then it would to ask me to explain trump.

How about the guys at the Lincoln Project? Are they responsible for trump and do they need to explain their support for trump? Their beliefs are farther to the right then mine but I would say they are more effective at fighting trump then Sanders or AOC but less so than Stacy Abrams.

“Their CCP allies”, how adorable. The reality is that the left see solutions that are contrary to your (the right’s) concept of how problems should be addressed. In other words, you (the right) would not see efforts on the part of the left as a god thing to begin with, so you should be happy that the left is distracted, because to have them implementing working solutions that fail to conform to your RW moral aesthetic would be unpleasant for you.

The active RW, meanwhile, is engaged in raising social strife to the level that enough Americans will accept autocracy just to get some relief from the discord. Hence, anything that works toward making the country more equitable/livable work against the RW autocracy vector, and so RWers oppose it. The RW literally does not want things to get better.

Because he’s a massively lazy troll. His trolling is just run off the mill - it’s his incredible laziness that sets him apart.

I’m still trying to understand how Capitalist China is allied with the American left.

Cool story, bro.

It, and you, are completely unhinged from reality.

It’s yet another example of the right accusing the left of their sins.

Trump actively expanded his and his daughter’s businesses in China, worked to get sanctions dropped against a Chinese company right about the same time a Trump-themed project in Indonesia received a massive Chinese bank loan, initially praised China’s response to COVID until he needed a scapegoat for his own incompetence, and hired a Secretary of Transportation with close family ties to a Chinese-government-linked shipping company, so naturally they call Biden “China Joe”.

In the same vein, Trump has about 20 accusations of sexual assault against him, held private “parties” with Jeffrey Epstein and wished Epstein’s partner “well” in relation to her criminal case, made sexualized comments about his own underaged daughter and other underaged girls, and bragged about being able to walk into changing rooms where underaged girls were naked and - literally - about sexually assaulting women, so naturally they call Biden “Creepy Joe”.

Trump struggles to articulate a single coherent thought - or sentence - and has given us such gems as Washingon’s troops liberating the airports, windmills causing cancer and injecting disinfectants to cure COVID, so naturally they call Biden “Sleepy Joe”.

The same people who talk incessantly about Hunter Biden somehow ignore that the last administration not only gave jobs to Trump’s family but also the families of Bill Barr, Rudy Giuliani and Mitch McConnell.

I could go on, but you all know the rest of the story. All that the Republicans - and octopus - have anymore are lies and hypocrisy.

So we get told about how violent and nasty the protesters on the left are, even though that narrative relies on deliberate exaggeration of the extent of the violence and destruction during the protests, deliberate conflation of the actual protesters and those involved in looting and burning, deliberate silence about the violent right-wing groups at the protests and the violence instigated and committed by the law enforcement officers sent in even as the protests were dying down, and deliberate accusations of left-wing politicians encouraging violence even though they - up to and including Biden - repeatedly condemned the violence while right-wing politicians - up to and including Trump - actively and openly encouraged their followers to commit violence and praised them when they did so. And then, when January 6 happened, actively worked to excuse and mislead about their and their followers actions.

I mean, imagine the level of moral bankruptcy required to push these narratives not just once but over and over and over again for months on end. “SAD”, as certain people like to say.

“Nations have no permanent friends or allies, they only have permanent interests.”

Both US parties have typically followed this philosophy while in government.

I’ve seen fiscal conservatives making this point - that they’re happy the left concerns itself with identify politics and other things they don’t care about, because it distracts them from trying to pass Medicare for All or the Green New Deal or somesuch. Don’t think that describes Octopus, though

@octopus, what would you like the government to do about China?

America has never lost a land war in Asia, so I think we leverage our winning strategy by putting troops on the ground in China and go get all those American manufacturing jobs and stolen technology back. We’ll be welcomed as liberators when we topple the CCP.

ETA: I’m usually better at recognizing snark than that. Dammit.

I have been repeatedly assured by right-wing relations that America’s umpteen million private gun owners are more than a match for the million-strong Chinese Army. Admittedly they were talking about some kind of ‘Red Dawn’ scenario but still, I have every confidence in them.

Let’s send them over there and show those commie bastards what a “well regulated militia” can do.

Can I recommend nuking them? It’s quicker.

“Hive mind.”

Sure they do – for the “right” people.

“We didn’t lose Vietnam! It was a tie!”
