Lots of people go to dangerous places to earn money. There lines of settlers for the Oklahoma territory while Indians were still killing them. You’re correct most people wouldn’t pack children over there but some will just like miners in the Klondike gold rush brought their families from the start or brought then over once they got a claim established. More importantly colonists will have sex and children will occur even if you sent over nothing but 20 somethings looking to make their fortune.

Again, false premise. The United States and its allies did not “control its strategic objectives”; it was constantly harassed by insurgents planting IEDs, never built an effective coalition of tribal leaders opposed to Taliban rule, and was at no point able to secure and maintain the entire National Highway 01 (i.e. “the Ring Road”) to allow ready transport of people and goods around the country, much less all “strategic objectives”.

Why take half measures in just subjugating Afghanis? Why don’t we just declare the entire Afghan population to be subhumans fit only for slave labor and sever the hand of anyone who doesn’t make their daily quota?

Are you under the impression that women are forbidden from entering mosques?
That is not the case. They sit separately from the men, but they absolutely go to mosque.
It varies.
In South Africa, most mosques are dual gender, with separate seating. However there is at least one that I know of that does not accommodate women.
In Indonesia all the mosques I visited had areas where my girlfriend was not allowed into, but I was.
In India, (in Rajasthan) women were allowed in but again, in several mosques the central areas only let me in, and only if I had a head covering.
I say we dust off and nuke the site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Years and years ago I heard a military officer being interviewed on a radio program who was asked how long it would take Afghanistan to be self sufficient and have western levels of human rights and infrastructure. He said about 100 years.
So we all just wait 100 years, then invade again.
Because in situations like these, the people that want to leave are more likely to include the wealthier and more educated people, and the Taliban probably want them to stay.
