Some more positive-ish ones: Mike Myers is a comedy genius. Just A Minute is far funnier than I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue (one for the Brits) I agree that A.I. is a brilliant film. (Requiem For A Dream, on the other hand, is pants.) Everybody Loves Raymond is probably one of the most vicious, hard-hitting comedies of the last 20 years (and that’s a good thing). Julie Andrews would’ve been loads better than Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. (Well… kind of positive!) ---

I don’t like **Star Wars**. I’m not a fan of **Pink Floyd**. Soccer bores the crap out of me. I have never read nor seen any of the **LOTR** stuff, and have no intention of ever doing so. I don’t particularly like cats. ---

_Saving Private Ryan_ was crap, and absolutely deserved to lose Best Picture to _Shakespeare in Love_. ---

_Titus Andronicus_ is nowhere near one of Shakespeare’s worst plays. I second (or third) the notion that the early seasons of _Saturday Night Live_ were highly over-rated. ---

**Star Trek: the Next Generation** was, at best, mediocre television. It featured a lame cast of bland bores, and the writing was just as formulaic, hackneyed, full of timid “safe” topical matter and pseudoscientific jargon as **Voyager** ever was. “The Borg” were simply a ripoff of “the Cybermen” from Doctor Who. The final episode of **Newhart** was cute, but is now the most monumentally over-rated moment in the history of television. The new **War of the Worlds** is a decent summer blockbuster movie. No matter how prepared Batman could make himself, Superman, Wonder Woman and…yes…AQUAMAN could each individually wipe their asses with him in a fight. “We Built This City” isn’t _that_ bad a song. ---

_The Nanny_ was fully the equal of _I Love Lucy_ and had a superior supporting cast. _Monty Python’s Flying Circus?_ It would make a good one-hour highlight reel. The rest is doo-doo. Meatloaf has the best male voice in modern popular music. Hayley Westenra may have the best female voice, it is hard to tell. Oddly, Westlife has a good album, _Allow Us to be Frank._ Nissan makes a better car than Volkswagen. The front of the new US nickel is great. There was never a better-looking coin than the old Ike with the Eagle Landing on the Moon obverse. The Euro is pig-ugly. ---
