I think the _Lord of the Rings_ series is long and boring. I thought _Napoleon Dynamite_ was funny, I don’t care what anyone else says. Hayden Christensen did the last half of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith really, really well. Sum 41 and all bands like it suck ass. Classic or not I don’t think \*To Kill a Mockingbird \* was that great. _Dandelion Wine_ was the most boring and utterly pointless book I have read. Brad Pitt isn’t good looking at all. ---

Babies are ugly. Children are annoying and sticky. The Beatles are great, but not as “OMG!!!11eleven” as people make them out to be. It _shows_ that Charles Dickens was paid by the word. Emo is dreck. Playing lead guitar isn’t the be all and end all of being in a band. Neither is being a lead singer. Jennifer Aniston’s nose bothers me. Geeks are hotter than pretty muscle men. Alex Trebek looked better with his moustache. I don’t like Ken Jennings. Most of what passes for internet humor (like Flash movies and stuff) sucks. Anime sucks. End of story. ---

Most current fiction is pointless, unquotable self-abuse, written for people who would be better off spending the money on psychotherapy. Most _science_ fiction is comic books in search of art, written for people who feel out of place in reality but lack the imagination to create their own. Most so-called indie rock is that in lack-of-major-label-affiliation only. Not only is 90% of everything crap, 89% of it isn’t even honest crap. ---

Got some more! Alternative medicine doesn’t work, but the placebo effect is the most powerful force known to mankind. Avebury is much more impressive than Stonehenge. Virginia Woolf is often practically unreadable, and Bloomsbury in general is massively overrated. Come to that, the Modernists were a load of idiotic fascists too; the Victorians were far more open to change and social improvement. ---

The Pyramids at Giza, and a mess of other Egyptian stuff is not especially large nor especially impressive. A modern shopping mall has a larger footprint. A modern office block has more height. Sure, I understand it before the discovery on the rainbow and so had only crude stone power tools, but still, it is not that visually impressive. Sorry. ---

– I also think that Starship Troopers was a good movie (on many levels.) I think we can officially call it non-heretical now 🙂 – Alien:Resurrection was the second best movie of the series, after Aliens. – I never liked Semisonic. Back in the day, I never liked Trip Shakespeare. – Stone Temple Pilots songs work on many levels. – The Promise Rings last album is a masterpiece. – Ditto Second Coming by the Stone Roses (oddly enough both have a retro-70s sound to them.) – Ummagumma doesn’t suck (but it is Pink Floyd’s worst album…hmmm, come to think of it, that would be Saucerful of Secrets :o) – Sisters of Mercy _are_ Goth. (although not quite As Fuck.) – The Beatles _weren’t_ better songwriters than they were singers.
