Ah, but the Republican party has now been taken over by the religious right - any true conservatives out there, who believe in small government, and minimal governmental interference in a private citizen’s life, had better join the Democratic party - there’s no place left for you with the Republicans. ---

Senator Assfoam is yapping all over. “It’s a death sentence, it’s a death sentence.” Earlier, I heard him saying something like, “What we do to the least of them…” Bull and shit, asshole. In all your years as Senator of this state, you have NEVER given two shits about the least of us. You told a woman on live TV that you didn’t care about the destruction of her home and business because she wasn’t able to buy flood insurance back in September (even though it wasn’t even AVAILABLE to her). Then he said it wasn’t the job of the government to help her out. Fuck you, you fucking fuckstick. Why don’t you go and obsess more about man on dog? ---

The Schindlers’ lead attorney is now calling the appeal the Supreme Court rejected the family’s “last meaningful appeal.” I do not take this to mean they’re going to withdraw any other appeals. :rolleyes: ---

Had the _Today_ show on this morning while I was getting ready and Matt Lauer was interviewing the Schindler family’s priest, who said, “I visited with Terri yesterday, and she acknowledged me when I came in, and smiled when I asked if she wanted to pray, and closed her eyes when I prayed over her, then opened them again when I was done. She’s very responsive.” Matt, being the ace reporter that he is, followed up with, “Pardon me if I call you a lying sack of shit, father . . .” Oh, no, wait, no he didn’t. He lapped it up like milk. ---

How the hell does Michael get past all the protestors to see Terri? I assume he zips in driving some car with heavily tinted windows. But I know he’s been in to see her, and other family members of other hospice patients can get it (although sometimes too late to see their loved ones before they die) but how does Michael get past the people who would as soon shoot him as spit on him? I heard that her brother, Bobby, is no longer allowed to see her. I wonder how that will go over with the masses. ---

I’m sure some poor scriptwriter is spending every waking hour doing research, trying to get the facts of the case just right so that it isn’t biased in the slightest. Unfortunately, Lifetime will bypass that script in favor of the one where Michael Schiavo beats his wife into a coma, then beats her every day while she’s in the hospital, rapes her, gets her pregnant, beats her 'til she loses the baby, then beats the Supreme Court until they agree to let him kill her, just so he’ll stop beating them. Maybe they could get Russell Crowe to play Michael. He’d be good at beating people. ---
