I find it amazingly stupid and bigoted to jump up and down and say ‘Let’s list all the negative traits we can pull out of our asses regarding this group’.
For what it’s worth, many of the things that piss people off about religion seem to have pissed Jesus off, too.
Nietzsche is dead. We are alive. Whilst we live there is the possibility of love, hope and faith.
I prefer not to look for evil or dwell on it too much lest by doing so I allow its ways to linger too much in my heart.
Instead, I prefer to wish all of you the three greatest gifts of God, faith, hope and love.
May your days be rich with love and full of hope and faith. If faith be not yours now, may it come to you quietly and softly, when you need it most.
Peace,
Peter - an old name
Why? Why do I need faith? What if my whole life is happy without this faith thing?
If anything is wrong with Christians and any other religion it’s this sanctimonius self-assurance that they are right, and what they have is what I need.
This turns me off religion more than anything. Why can’t religious people accept that I not only do not believe in God, but further, I do not need God. If I need spirituality, I’ll find it in the presence of nature around me.
In what unlikely event, that Neitzsche is dead? As opposed to…
Yeah, all that hand-wringing over pogroms and the like is such a drag.
Seems better than looking for reasons to try to slam a stranger. Good on ya. I can feel the love now!
So it’s OK to argue in this thread, but not in this one?
If that is so, then obviously I failed to convey the appropriate sentiment.
I’m actually shocked by this thread.
Not shocked at rfgdxm’s behavior – posters like him are a dime a dozen.
What surprised me are the atheists/agnostics in the thread pointing out what a tacky OP we’ve got here and actually called the guy on it.
Wow.
I’ll miss me.
There’s also the possibility of using one’s mind, looking for answers instead of guessing and “believing” they’re right, as well as a myriad of other possibilities such as you suggest. I guess it all depends on which way one wants to think.
That’s true. Other fun facts about Peter: It’s slang for penis.
'sa pleasure m’am.
Jesus and I agree that bitching about Christianity is Cathartic and healing.
I think the most evil thing about christian’s is that they aren’t throwing themselves out of the temple, because that’s what Jesus would do.
Erek
Oh yeah, and that whole thing about calling Satanism Christianity is pretty irritating.
Who the fuck is witnessing here?
And I was already just about warned in the other thread after mentioning this was open.
Instead of carrying shit from thread to thread, start your own. You know where.
Quite likely I read it wrong. Retracted.
Funny how bigotry becomes OK when you’re the one doing it.
I hardly see why you should find such an impulse amazing. (I’m atheistical, by the way).
If you’re a Christian then you believe, as a tenet of your faith, that Christ is the only path to salvation. (At least I assume Christians still hold to that, otherwise what’s the point? They may as well be Muslims, Buddhists, whatever takes their fancy - “It’s all the same, God, man!”).
Believing this, and believing as a consequence of this that all who are not Christian will NOT find salvation, but rather eternal perdition, then how could they not feel the need to save people from the fires of hell?
The key part there is “force”. As opposed to just spreading the word. I don’t recall the apostles advocating followers go around and say to others “convert or die”.
You are talking about Fundamentals, they make up only a small part of Christianity. Most of Christianity is not that way at all.
On the other side, the advances in science has made possible the killing of more people than the Christians ever dreamed of in their Crusades. Science can kill over 100,000 people with just one bomb. Remember when you point the finger at someone, there are four more pointing back at you.
