If this is like all the other Spotify threads I’ve started, it will go nowhere. Songs only meaning no traditional carols. We hear those all of the time and there are so many versions the playlist will have 15 versions of Jingle Bells. No _Christmas Shoes_. Songs must be available on Spotify (to add to the list). You can talk about other Christmas songs you like but they won’t go in the playlist. They are honorable mentions. Mrs. Cad’s choices. (Completely unfair she gets to add to the list) Colorado Christmas by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Gabriel’s Message by Sting Christmas Time is Here by Peanuts My choices One Little Christmas Tree by Stevie Wonder Christmas is All Around by Billy Mack (Love Actually soundtrack) Whatever Happened to Christmas by Frank Sinatra Honorable Mentions Best novelty song: _Holy $#!T It’s Christmas_ by Red Peters Best obscure song (and not on Spotify): _Christmas Amoeba_ by Steve Lyon, the Doctor And of course _Rio_ by Duran Duran is a Christmas song but didn’t make my top 3. ---

How about Straight No Chaser’s “[12 Days of Christmas](https://open.spotify.com/track/5f5wlkRHWhYxOdp1hOUsTb?si=36837fde2be04e9d)”? It begins like it’s going to be the traditional carol\*, but that doesn’t last long. The last verse in particular is a ton of fun. Can it count? I’ll have to think about any others. Most of the stuff I listen to is the more traditional fare (though not all are carols). \*For some reason the original “12 Days” feels like a carol to me even though it isn’t remotely religious. ---
