Oh, **Dotty** , I’m so sorry. That sucks. I hate it when doctors go all superior. And even more when it means the kid is much more miserable than she needs to be. ☹ I hope she feels better when she wakes up. Mr. Lissar came home almost paralyzed with exhaustion. We’re going to bed almost right after Nat does, I think. First I’ll have a bath and eat chocolate, though. ---

Don’t feel alone, **goddess,** neither do I. On the other hand, how does one turn **Taters** into a nickname? It’s already short, so there you go. I guess one could say N.O.T. is sort of a nickname for me, because if anyone is talking about any kind of taters besides me, they type that in. I don’t have a horse either. I wanted one really, really, really, really, really badly when I was girl, but never got one. Thank goodness I had friends who had horses. Happy Birthday, **Farmerchick** and grats on the horse. It snowed here last night and the commute was a bit slick for many drivers. Tonight, temps are supposed to drop even lower than last night, but the snow from last night did melt off today, so hopefully the roads will be alright. Dotty, I hope HRH gets over her bug quickly. I survived another day of work and meetings. Today I was presented with my 25 year pin and certificate. Only six months late! However, paperwork moves very slowly within the federal government HR system, so I should be pleased I got it this close to my 25 year mark. Only 11 to go and then I can retire. I’ll only be 56 when I retire. Of course, if the markets don’t improve I’ll probably be unable to afford to retire. Hmm, guess I’ll cruise the net for a bit and check my Facebook. ---

To those who have snotty, vomitty, mucusy-filth children–EW! Get them away from me! (seriously, I do hope things get better–and see below). When Daughter was about HRH’s age, if not even smaller, she got a wicked diaper rash from the antibiotics she was on for her chronic ear infections. This was explosive, nasty stuff–I think the military was looking into using it for a biological weapon. Anyway, as he is leaving the room, Dr “I Have a Wife Who Sees To These Things” Pediatrician says to me, “regarding that rash, just leave the diaper off.” and toddles off. I am surprised the door didn’t melt from my enraged laser beam eyes. What I did was every time she exploded in the rear was to (literally) hose her down, using the handheld shower head in the tub, followed by a buttload (heh) of Desitin on the affected area. Her rash cleared up in about 2 days. Ok, so it doesn’t help with puke. But I told the story anyway. I’m practicing for my nursing home days when I can bore all visitors, but they must listen because I haven’t made my will out yet. Off to bed soon. Tomorrow doesn’t promise to be as nice as today. TH has only said one word to me tonight (hello). He is now asleep. The Old Boy Network was either not tapped or doesn’t work–I’m not about to inquire as to which, but breathe a sigh of relief and move forward. ---

Programming note: Agony Aunt Ryl is now Tuesday-Thursday. I am grumpy tonight. Tomorrow Former Roommate will (supposedly) show up to pay some of her back rent. Complicated Roommate is going to lay down the law on her. If she does not pay/does not respect the law/does not show up, the whole sordid affair will take on a legal aspect. Home from class, dosed with generic NyQuil, waiting for it to kick in. I already called my boss and told him I’m not coming in tomorrow. That way, I don’t have to wake up early to call him. I can sleep in. \*\*FCD \*\*is off tomorrow, too, since he worked last weekend. So we’ll have a long weekend, tho going to my mom’s Sunday for dinner kills one full day. Class went well. I’ve cut out all the pieces for my 2nd project (pop art - a giant tape dispenser) and I think I know what I’m doing for the 3rd project (a 4-piece set - I’ll do 3 planters in a common saucer base.) Now I just need to do my research project on raku and figure out what my “social commentary” piece will be. Two weeks, then spring break. No Ft. Lauderdale for me, tho… OK, the drugs are kicking in. That doesn’t sound like a particularly pleasant day for anyone at Chez Dotty. Criminey, thanks for the tip. I’m gonna have to check out the tooth stuff aisle at the drugstore to see if they carry those doohickeys and give them a try. Anything that doesn’t involve carefully threading floss around the million obstacles in my mouth would be a welcome change. And on that note, The Boy is finally home. Yay!
