I’m just listening to Rage Against The Machine’s cover album “Renegades”, and [Maggie’s Farm](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmceSj07_fs) comes up. It’s good though it is dead serious whereas Dylan’s own version was slightly humorous, but it works well. As an alternative I offer [the Specials’ version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA8KR0Qo8R8), which was too good a song to not use it against Maggie Thatcher at the time. ---

The 2 I was gonna mention were already listed: Don’t think 2x - Mike Ness, and Absolutely Sweet Marie - Jason and the Scorchers. 2 of my favorite songs by 2 of my favorite bands. ---

Two excellent covers. The Stones https://www.youtube.com/embed/6WvtYgPKlw0?feature=oembed&wmode=opaque&list=RD6WvtYgPKlw0 And Leon Russell [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/lcWkBa-O_lg/maxresdefault.jpg "LEON RUSSELL, WATCHING THE RIVER FLOW") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcWkBa-O_lg) ---

Warren Zevon’s cover of [Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZHmmW-75to) is especially haunting since he recorded it after he knew he was dying. And here’s one of my favorite unknown bands from my college days, Jason and the Scorchers, doing [Absolutely Sweet Marie](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-cF40OWeak). ---

> [@Lucas\_Jackson](#): > > Please, no. Did you just think of that or do you actually like it? What? Of course I like it. Better than the “Sisters of Mercy” version, whoever that is.
