I have my DVDs listed at [DVDaficionado](http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&sub=All&id=gobear), which loads faster than Guzzlefish but doesn’t have as much detail in its listings. If you have your DVDs listed online, post the link and let’s go over each others’ collections–what do you like, what do you think are clunkers, what would you steal from a collection, what would you burn. ---

I think the majority of my DVDs are excellent. I realize G-Men From Hell isn’t a very good movie, but it’s an adaptation of a comic book by my favorite comic artist, Mike Allred, and Allred and his wife do the commentary track. That’s why I own it. A a friend of mine, film critic Luke Y. Thompson, did the commentary tracks on Black Belt Jones 2 and Ed and His Dead Mother, so he gave me those for free. Otherwise I wouldn’t own them either. The rest of my DVDs are nothing but quality, though. ---

First, burn all your VHS. You know what DVD stands for? “Die, VHS, Die!” You’ve got good taste in movies. I can tell you like action films (so do I). I see you have **Point of No Return** , which is all right, but you might want to pick up the French original, **Nikita** –the “La Femme” part was added in the US, oddly enough. You have **Casablanca** –great film–so you’re open to older films. You might want to pick up the nifty SE of **Treasure of the Sierra Madre** , an action classic that is, IMO, Bogie’s greatest role. Good stuff. **Movie I would Steal** : Black Belt Jones 2: The Tattoo Connection **Movie I would Burn:** All your VHS (and replace them with DVDs), but none of your DVDs because they’re all good. Now do mine. ---

Hmm. I’m working on my DVD list… would you recommend DVD Aficianado, gobear? Do they send commerical emails to you after you sign up? I can always just put it on my website in spreadsheet form when it’s done, but the DVD Afic. site looks interesting. ---

Gobear, your DVD collection looks very similar to mine. The main differences I see is that you have more musicals and I have more animation. (I also have more “Girls Gone Wild” DVD’s but no surprise there.) ---

I find DVD Aficionado to be really user-friendly, and it loads much faster than Guzzlefish. They’ve never pestered me with any spam, and it’s totally free to use. You can also download DVD Profiler on your home computer to keep track of your DVDs, but I don’t like the way it looks online. ---

Movie’s I love in **gobears** collection that may not be in everyone’s but are in mine are Civil War, The (1990) Which I’m working my way through again at the moment. 1 ep. a night. Then I’ll look at all of Gettysburg again Fail-Safe - Special Edition (1964) Topsy-Turvy (1999) Theatre of Blood - Midnite Movies (1973) Zardoz (1974) Apart from The Hire which I’ve never heard off I’d gladly have all of them. My favourite DVD is [A Matter of Life and Death](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038733/) a vanilla release but just to see that movie in beautiful pristine condition is great. A magical movie and one that you should check out if you’ve never saw it (called Stairway to heaven in the US IIRC) My DVD collection isn’t on line unfortunately. ---

You’ve got a hell of a collection, **gobear**! I haven’t seen a lot of your movies, but you don’t seem to have anything BAD. I’d happily steal your South Park box sets, your Tombstone Vista Series, Cannibal! The Musical, Tenacious D, 12 Monkeys, Equilibrium, and ESPECIALLY your Brazil Criterion Collection. I am so jealous of you for that one! I can’t even find it, and right now I couldn’t afford it if I did. Damn unemployment. Oh, by the way, I don’t buy VHS tapes anymore, and I’m selling a good deal of my store-bought VHS tapes on eBay this week. No bids yet, but the auction closes Sunday evening. Wish me luck! ---

You only looked at the first folder, I have a total of 341 listings. I like your collection–lots of good stuff. I notice you have several Brian De Palma films, but none from the director he plagiarizes from, Alfred Hitchcock. Nothing I’d burn, but I’d steal **The Rutles** and **MST3K Vol. 1**. ---

Here’s [mine](http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=archiveguy). Going off memory (I just registered), but I don’t think I’m missing anything major. A couple titles I own (_Burden of Dreams, Two or Three Things I Know About Her_) they didn’t have. I should also note that (with only two exceptions thus far), I make a point of never spending more than $20 (including shipping) for a DVD. Thus, a number of titles I’d like to own I don’t and probably won’t until I win them on E-Bay (I’d say over half on my list I bought on E-Bay or at CostCo). Also, there are quite a number of titles I want not yet available on DVD yet. Haven’t done a wish list of others, yet, though. I’ll take a look at everyone else’s when I get a chance. ---

Unfortunately, a brief search of a dozen entries didn’t yield a single result that met my \<$20 criteria (except, of course, for titles I can get under $20 elsewhere). I actually like this rule of thumb, though, because that way, I’m not spending too much, I’m extra happy when I do find something, and I don’t have to decide which one I want to buy next–fate does the choosing for me. ---

No problem, **ArchiveGuy** , though I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it. Being an archivist and all. 😉 You could also try [www.moviesunlimited.com](http://www.moviesunlimited.com), which has always had some of the more obscure titles for rent, meaning they may have them for sale, too. ---
