Cutting top marginal tax rates from 90% to 50% is economic stimulus. Anything below that is just a tax cut.
Really? So there was no projected Social Security shortfall or projected Medicare deficit before 2001? That’s an amazing piece of news to me. I’d like to see a cite for that.

Um…so, it has no other stimulus if the cut is on taxes below 50%? Exactly what do you base this incredible statement on?

I think Johnson did a wonderful thing simply talking about a great society.
This was FDR’s legacy, that change from the people was possible, that the country could make major changes by appealing to the public interest.
And Johnson was the last to bring up nobility of the common man.
I think if Jimmy Carter had used some of that rhetoric he would still be president today (assuming the term limit was repealed along the way, and while I’m supposing other things, why not that too.)
