Let's do personality profiles on each other based on our favorite movies

Try to guess what makes this mod tick:

  1. Flight Of The Phoenix
  2. Brainsmasher: A Love Story
  3. Oscar
  4. Man Bites Dog
  5. Brain Donors
  6. Pulp Fiction
  7. Love’s Labour’s Lost(Branagh’s musical version)
  8. Xanadu
  9. Berlin Alexanderplatz
  10. ‘Manos’, The Hands Of Fate

In no particular order, my top ten I would be:

  1. LOTR Trilogy
  2. The Sound of Music
  3. Shogun
  4. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
  5. Sholay
  6. Earth
  7. Casino
  8. Bridget Jones Diary
  9. Matchstick Man
    10.The Terminal

My thoughtful, carefully thought out and digrammed analysis of each and every one of you is as follows:

YOU ARE ALL LUNATICS!!! AAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGH!!! GET ME OUTTA HERE!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Except Hot Buttered Toast. Apart from an irrational belief that modern technology will cure all of society’s ills, she’s pretty normal.

Hmmm, thought we were supposed to analyze the previous poster? I guess I am too sanguine to be analyzed?

::pout::

There will probaby be more lists than profiling so here’s my list:

Cruel Intentions

Empire Records

Under the Tuscan Sun

Stalag 17

City of Angels

The Little Mermaid

Goonies

Romeo and Juliet (the 90’s version)

Austin Powers 2

The Breakfast Club

  9. Raiders Of the Lost Ark (1981)
  10. Pulp Fiction (1994)

Lou seeks adventure and danger! He is the romantic hero of the tale who loves the ladies but can kick ass, too. He’s fearless and at times, a bit reckless but that’s ok. He’s quick enough to escape the traps with time enough to snatch his favorite hat before the tomb seals forever!

I see a lot of confusion in your life. Reading over this list I note the prominence if Kevin Spacey with The Usual Suspects and LA Confidential, to add to this confusion you list movies like Billy Elliot and Young Frankenstein, all about doing what they love and dancing.

There is a definite Jungian appeal to your list, though I must say Kirkegaard would probably have a hissy fit.

And Freud is without a doubt that your Mother might be in peril of your advances and seeking an adult relationship with her.

Your bill is in the mail,
Dr. Ronin

Okay, not just out of order, but probably not truly indicative of my favorites as I’m sure to leave something out. I can’t even limit it to ten!

Forbidden Planet

The Day The Earth Stood Still

Fugitive Alien (MST3K)

Aliens

Willard

Pirates of the Carribean - The Curse of the Black Pearl*

You are obsessed with food and roller skating. Though you hate your mother, you want to be just like her. Loyalty is more important than truth in your life. Airplanes scare you.

  1. Paths of Glory
  2. The Desperate Hours (Frederick March)
  3. Key Largo
  4. Goodfellas
  5. The Lady Eve
  6. Auntie Mame (Rosalind Russell)
  7. Psycho (A
  8. To Be Or Not To Be (Jack Benny)
  9. Charlie’s Aunt (Jack Benny)
  10. Johnny Come Lately

Not Necessarily in order. Subject to change without notice or forethought.

Vewwwwwwwwy interesting.

I detect a love for combat, and epic stories of good versus evil. I see a strong spirit and a believe in honor and chivalry. I see a love for all things purple. Perhaps you were born in the wrong era, with Exaclibur and the Holy Grail both being on your list. But then again you have a love for the future as shown in Blade Runner.

Yes, lots of confusion.

Though Freud solemnly swears you are not confused about your lust for she who bore you to this world.

That’ll be three easy payments of 49.95
– Dr. Ronin

(Not necessarily in order)

  1. The Godfather
  2. Office Space
  3. Babette’s Feast (Denmark)
  4. Bossa Nova (Brazil)
  5. Monsoon Wedding (India)
  6. Best in Show
  7. West Side Story
  8. Sleepless in Seattle
  9. Godfather part II
  10. Drop Dead Gorgeous

A control freak who’s a softie at heart? Damn. You sure we don’t know each other IRL?

Hmm.

The people with lists of movies I’ve actually seen enough of to do an effective analysis have already been analyzed. Anyhoo, if anyone wants to try to peel the Mango…

in no particular order

Eating Raoul
Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills
Tough Guys Don’t Dance
The Last Temptation of Christ (please don’t tell Fr. Francis…)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The Great Rock and Roll Swindle
Lord of the Rings (trilogies count as one)
Star Wars (see above)
Lawrence of Arabia
The Ring

I don’t go to movies much, but I came up with these:
[ol]
[li]A Man for All Seasons (Paul Scofield, not Charlton Heston)[/li][li]Shakespeare in Love[/li][li]Attack of the Killer Tomatoes[/li][li]Beauty and the Beast (the Disney version)[/li][li]The Lion in Winter[/li][li]The Great Train Robbery[/li][li]Monty Python and the Holy Grail[/li][li]Glory[/li][li]The Princess Bride[/li][li]Galaxy Quest[/li][/ol]
I’ll save you the trouble of analyzing the above—I’m terminally wierd.

  1. Miller’s Crossing
  2. Star Wars
  3. Singin’ in the Rain
  4. The Return of the King
  5. The Big Lebowski
  6. Lilo and Stitch
  7. Aliens
  8. Yojimbo
  9. Raiders of the Lost Ark
  10. Young Frankenstein

Mine’s pretty easy, actually. I’m still basically a little kid and I like to see shit blow up. No charge necessary.

I’ll save the armchair psychologists a lot of trouble. My list of movies will indicate that I am, in fact, super-sane

  1. Apocalypse Now
  2. Brazil
  3. Big Trouble In Little China
  4. Bedazzled (Moore/Cook version… of course)
  5. Arsenic and Old Lace
  6. The Big Lebowski
  7. Straight to Hell
  8. Resevoir Dogs
  9. Duck Soup
  10. Heavy Metal Parking Lot

Going by what I watch the most frequently:

  1. Room With A View
  2. Lord of the Rings (especially “Fellowship…”)
  3. Lawrence of Arabia
  4. Breakfast at Tiffany’s
  5. Dr. Zhivago
  6. Rebecca
  7. The Best Years of Our Lives
  8. All About Eve
  9. The Haunting (the 1963 version)
  10. Beauty and the Beast (Disney)

On the contrary I think I can put you in the medium average of the general populous, I see a love for the romances as shown by Killer Tomatoes and Galaxy Quest. Though the oddness of your personality comes from the consecutive listing of Glory and a Princess Bride, these two movies show deeply emotional conflict due to the feng shui of your movie collection.

And of course we must hear from Freud, and he thinks your ugly duckling complex might be overcome by approaching your mother about your feelings for her.
