Let's do personality profiles on each other based on our favorite movies

Try this list, with no particular order:

Kelley’s Heroes
Brazil
LOTR trilogy
The Usual Suspects
Blazing Saddles
Airplane
Shrek
The Quiet Man
Excalibur
Harry Potter Series

I sense an anti-authority streak in this case, you’re independent and struggling to break free of your oppressors (Kings, principals, bosses.) And would be willing to become violent if it were neccessary. You want to lead an army, however, you’d prefer to lead things from behind the curtain. Like every good leader, you feel love is neccessary, but only when times are calm.

And mine, in no particular order:

Battle Royale
MASH
Fight Club
FUBAR
Payback
Reservoir Dogs
Clockwork Orange
Dr Strangelove
Star Wars (Ep 4 or the original trilogy)
Indiana Jones (Raiders or Holy Grail)

You love war and battle, violence is your middle name. Along with the thrill of glory and victory over the odds, you have a somewhat cruel, twisted sense of humor. I suggest Anger Management classes and some green tea.

The love of snow, [Fargo] silly Englishmen whom gets farted to in their directions by the French, [MP] The “gezelligheid” of the Italian Cuisine, [Godfather] and the total lack of respect for the police, [Res.D.] makes me very doubtful about your personality.

Then, ofcourse, there’s the Clockwork Orange!

I fear to say it, but might you be DUTCH? !

Ya know? Waaaaaay back on the first page, I both supplied my list and did a reading.

Perhaps someone can return the favor.

You can’t limit it to ten, which shows you have a problem following directions and have a problem with authority.

Much like VH-1, you love the 80’s. Your fondest memories are from these years.

You refer to the first Star Wars film as Episode IV: A New Hope. You are, unfortunately, a nerd.

However, you include Aliens, Young Frankenstein, and an MST3K episode on your list, indicating that you’re a nerd with exquisite taste. “Captain Joe!” “Rocky! (again?)” “You don’t have to be destroyed by a black hole… but it helps!”

NoClueBoy, IMHO… you’ve got no clue as to the mystery of Life and all its wonders. You want love, you want a Big Mac, you want all life has to offer on a silver platter. But you ain’ goan git it, honey! You gots ta work hard fo’ tha money or you betta treat her right!

Your sense of humor is sick, just sick… just really bad. I’d like to see you back for another session where we can delve into the depths of your maternal bonding and perhaps figure out where it all went so very, very wrong.

DUDE! I was too lazy to go back and read your list. I’m going off the top o’ me head.

Wow, has this game thread gone awry. Everyone is just rattling off their movies without analyzing the previous poster. C’mon people, you gotta give if you want to take.

I haven’t seen #1 or #8, but the rest fall into two camps, either wild adventurous fantasies, or flicks that have themes about fighting the powers that be.

I’d say that you’re a flighty revolutionary.

#s 1, 3, 7, and 10 are dark movies about criminals. 2, 5, 6, nd maybe 8 have themes about youth and innocence. Did you do time as a juvenile delinquent?

In no particular order…

The Last of the Mohicans
The Shawshank Redemption
Pirates of the Caribbean
A Few Good Men
Interview With The Vampire
Armageddon
City of Angels
Stand by Me
LOTR Trilogy (ROTK, TTT, FOTR)
Fight Club

Lots of action on this list. However, you went for volume two of Kill Bill rather than volume one, so you’re not a total splatter fan. You like a little plot with your violence. This is kind of a man’s man kind of list, isn’t it? All battle and honor and nobility and the like. You like red meat and drink beer. You build things.

Oh, and you want to sleep with your mom.

Hmm… you identify with the underdog and have a strong sense of Karma happens.

You value your eccentric individuality, yet you desperately want to fit in somewhere.

And you want to do your mom.

This isn’t my top 10 so much as a random sample of my DVD collection, but here goes:

Amelie
Dogma
Finding Nemo
Lilo & Stitch
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Pirates of the Caribbean
Princess Mononoke
The Triplets of Belleville
Waking Life
Zoolander

Oh dear, there’s no known cure for that is there, doctor?

But now that I think about it…

Caro Diario=Italian film + Godfather. You mention the silly English and French in Holy Grail. The Orange from the Clockwork. Unbearable Lightness of being is set in Prague (!) and in Fargo many people appear to be of Swedish (and possibly Danish?) origins. I think I’ve analysed myself here.
Oh and you supplied the running Germans themselves, but they were running on empty.
