# Let's do this criminal thing "out in the desert"

Pretty sure he was referring to one of the pools in the geothermal areas. [We’ve had prior threads on the topic.](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/yellowstone-geyser-guy/761570/3)[More than one.](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/how-long-does-it-take-to-die-on-a-pool-of-molten-steel/691751/31) Seems that pool of boiling acid are pretty good at rendering a human being (or other critter) into clear broth in a very short time period.
