> C’mon, I can do it! It’s actually 5 weeks from tomorrow. 3 elbees per week will be hard, but not impossible! Thanks for joining in though. I’ll be a lot more motivated if I’m checking in with other people. No need to post actual starting weights, just what’s coming off. Let’s post weight lost every Thursday morning.

Ooo, perfect, since I get weighed every Wednesday night at Weight Watchers. 60.4 pounds so far, so I’ll try for 10ish by TDay. Starting weight from Weds: 264.4.

Certainly not; everyone knows it’s pronounced “libs”.

At the gym this morning I weighed in at 183…not so bad considering my high was 185 (of all muscle) now Im just a pudgy kid. Now it’s tennis time w00t!

Heck, I’ve been losing on my own for a while now I might get a bit of a boost from this. I was 384 this morning so I guess I’m shooting for 370 by Thanksgiving. Of course I’ve already missed 3 days at the gym this week so I’m not starting off very well.

Oh I’m down ~120 lbs from my highest about 17 months ago.

I wish I could lose even just five pounds by then. My body refuses to let go of its last excess 8 pounds. I’ve been at this weight, one or two pounds variation, for over a year. It’s very disheartening. I eat my points target (I’m a Weight Watcher person) every day, exercise, still no loss. Eat my flex points, no loss. Less exercise, no loss. I’m really honestly starting to wonder if I can’t lose this last bit because of loose skin issues (I have lost quite a bit of weight).

Good for you on all your weight lost! I think that you can do it, so there!

I’m so scared to get on the scale. For being the one that started this thread, I’m not doing so well. This is not good! Up 3 pounds. Tomorrow is my 41st birthday, and I’m at my heaviest! And it’s not going to get any easier. I am exactly 19 pounds from my goal weight (and what I weighed when I turned 40.) OK, family is coming over today and I’m actually preparing a healthy meal: home made baked tilapia egg rolls, a Chinese Spinach/Mushroom soup with tofu and rice. For desert we’re having orange Jello mixed with mandarin oranges and almond slivers ( a friend who was in Weight Watchers turned me on to this recipe; it’s really easy to make and surprisingly tasty!) Anyway, today is a new day and I’m going to try to celebrate the healthy body I have and kick its ass starting tomorrow with some hula hooping and mini-tramping. Good job, everyone!

May I also recommend Fatfree SugarFree Chocolate Jello pudding with a sprinkle of almonds and coconut folded in before it sets? Reminiscent of an Almond Joy. 🙂

This is not going well…neither this thread nor my weight loss. Not excusing anything, but I did start my period yesterday, which is always good for a couple of pounds…not exactly inspirational! Well, tomorrow is Thursday.

Well I am a pound down from my last post. I’ve been going to the gym 3 days a week(ish) so it’s not so bad, I have eaten a tid-bit better, but i do believe I drank the calories this weekend that i worked on with the diet.:smack:

Im at 182 today. come on losss. go!

I’m not sure what happened this week but I’m up 4 pounds. I went to the gym and swam a mile 3 times in the last week and went and lifted for an hour once. This is drop from my usual routine but not enough to gain 4 lbs. My diet remained unchanged ~2000 calories a day. I’m not thinking I’m going to make it with the vacation this weekend.

I pretty much really screwed up this first week. Seriously, tomorrow is a new beginning. I have to remind myself that losing weight is not like pulling an all-nighter before finals. Next thing you know, it’s going to be the week before Thanksgiving and I’ll be looking for a lose-10-pounds-overnight deal and be really pissed at myself. I need to keep reminding myself that that’s not how it works. Why has this become so hard? Slow and steady… This is one of the few things in my life that I should be able to fully control…just do it, idiot!

I feel you. I was having an easier time losing weight before I gave myself the firm goal of trying to lose a specific amount in a specific time frame. It’s like the last time I tried to quit smoking. I would be able to go a whole day or two at a time without a cigarette before I decided to quit. But once I decided that I was done all I could think about was how badly I wanted another one.

But I am having little victories. I am drinking fewer of my calories (i.e. almost none of them as opposed to over half of them) and that was an easy switch. My exercize levels are still no where near where they should be though.

Keep at it. You can do it!

Yeah, people are saying “60? That’s great”, but I have at least 80 more to go.

This morning’s blood pressure

Probably just water. With guys our size, a little bit extra salt can add half a gallon of water, easy.

I was squatting 255 in the gym last night, and incline pressing 185 on Monday. Recovering splendidly from my knee surgery (finally!) My goal is to be squatting 315 by Thanksgiving and flat pressing 225 (three plates [on each side] and two plates, respectively) by Christmas.

I may or may not have dropped a few pounds in the last couple weeks, but I’ve really been watching my calories and trying to stay between 2,000 and 2,500. It’s not too hard, although I do want to start eating more fruit and stuff during the day. I’m less concerned about the weight as I am getting strong so **Oredigger** doesn’t kick my ass next time we meet up, though!

I’ve switched to gin and tonics or rum and diet coke. Brilliant! Although I still think I’ve -got- to allow myself one beer night a week. Saturday’s a rugby day!

Excellent! Instead of losing three lbs this first week, I gained 4. Yeah, that’s just what I was going for. Anyway, here I go again, starting from behind. We still have four more weeks… Cheers!
