I know someone that named their dog **Shortstop** (Shorty). I always thought that name was the best. (He was a big baseball fan.) ---

One of the best dog names I heard recently was “Uncle Joe”. In the plagiarized and difficult-to-live-up-to department, “Gromit”. I also like the sound of “Wingnut”, and I think that’s a name that will suit the personality of many labs. ---

“Tamerlane” 😉 . You can call him “Timur” for short. Hey, why not? I named the big stuffed frog I got for my niece, Chingis Khan 😃 . With a name like Tamerlane, I guarantee he’ll grow up to a very assertive dog. If possibly a bit imperious and bloodthirsty 😛 . - Tamerlane ---

My SO suggests **Stainmaster**. I think **Buddy** is a great name! Oh, and my father suggested that Hoover should have been called **Doona** because he spends most of his day on the bed. I guess the American translation would be **Quilt**. ---

I had a cat named “Sigmund Floyd” when I was younger. I called him “Floyd” for short and my mother would call him “Siggy”. ---
