Name him D-O-G (pronounced Deo Gee)it’ll take a while for folks to realize you named your dog…DOG.😃 We just got a new puppy too, a pug. His name is Otto. I wonder how SDMB’s **Otto** feels about that? ---

When I got my chow/shep/lab mix, he literally looked like a bear, of course everyone names their damn dog Bear…how unoriginal 😉 So I went through the USA atlas, and ran across Kodiak Island in Alaska, somehow I still named him a bear but I didn’t call him bear. Well, okay I still call him Bear as he’s my Kodi-Bear, that or Wolf Boy but that’s a different story. I kind of went with his personality when I decided that would be his name. He was a gentle boy but could be fierce (it’s the chow in him) when he felt he had to be. It took me a few days to decide that Kodiak fit him. That’s something I recommend that everyone to do. Look at several different names and see if his personality fit. My brother had a black lab named Nugget, I used to just call the dog Butt-Nugget!!! Chocolate lab…hmmmm, how about: Java (either coffee or the internet programing) Fudge (remember the Judy Blume book?) Nestle (okay that’s silly but works if your dog is a happy boy) ---

here are some of my suggestions that were rejected when my girlfriend got a male american eskimo.rejected but IMHO they’re OK: turbo nitro t-bone mc gruff vincent vega (pulp fiction) vincent tristan bram bam-bam zuess all i can think of now. BTW we named him Kody it fits him well. we did wait to name him tho. meanwhile i called him “dog with no name”. “went thru the desert with a dog with no name”-i would sing just to annoy the girlfriend…😃 ---
