Dario Marianelli’s Oscar-nominated score for _Pride & Prejudice_, of which this is “Dawn,” the opening theme:

And two bonus tracks:

And of course Richard Strauss, “Thus Spake Zarathustra,” from _2001: A Space Odyssey_:

Each movie has a fantastic soundtrack, all in all; these are just my favorite tracks from each.

**Until the End of the World**

Hands down. The director asked several respected musicians to each write one song that might have an appropriate sound for a movie set a few decades in the future. I went to see the movie and my date and I couldn’t wait to rush out and buy the soundtrack the same night. Check it out.

[From Dusk Til Dawn](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_Dusk_Till_Dawn_(soundtrack)) - It’s a great, great Texas blues compilation that could really stand on its own.

[Rocky and Rocky II](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky#Soundtrack)- Bill Conti’s work is irreplaceable to these films.

The next is a toss up of Jerry Goldsmith’s work on Hoosiers and Rudy.

I always admire the soundtrack Tarantino pieces together since Reservoir Dogs. That is a guy who clearly had interesting mp3 playlists before mp3s were a thing (see the reel-to-reel in Pulp Fiction).

As a child of the 70s it’s a tie between John Williams’ _ **Star Wars** _, _ **Superman** _ & _ **Jaws** _.

The Kronos Quartet gets honorable mention for _ **Requiem for a Dream** _…
