Nothing in the OP indicates that the examples given are exclusive to snowbirds. You my friend witnessed assholes, not snowbirds. ---

Please, I’ve been in Florida in July and those assholes are still there. It’s not limited to age either, there are plenty of young assholes in FL as well, year round. 🙂 ---

But remember, the old people we refer to as snowbirds are the ones who come here and think we should kiss their ass because they’re spending their\* New York \* money in our lousy state. We already know that things can’t be as nice here as they are _up north_. ---

It’s frustrating to not only deal with the crotchety population of one’s OWN town, but to have to assume other communities’ problems on an annual basis is a perfectly valid reason for bitching, much like Sturgis or any annual Renaissance fairground. This has absolutely nothing to do with the subject, but when I read the wedding anniversary announcements (“The Joe Blowes Celebrate Their 50th”) in the Sunday paper, I would say 9 out of 10 of these couples spend their winters in warm climates. ---

First of all, if you’re a douchebaggy snowbird, you’re probably blissfully unaware of it. Second, if you’re a douchebag of any feather, you’re probably blissfully unaware of it. Third, I still don’t think you got why I don’t think justifying their douchebaggy behavior relative to their monetary contribution to my economy is meaningful in the slightest. Not all old people are douchebags. Not all snowbirds are douchebags. Do we really have to do this every single time, or is there a club somewhere that gets membership points everytime somebody points stuff like this out? ---

There is a wide spread belief among that particular breed of snowbird that every Floridian is employed in some sort of snowbird service industry that would immediately go bankrupt if French Canadians boycotted us. ---

The difference is, a touring group of really old cars actually sounds cool and something I wouldn’t mind seeing as long as I could pass with ease, while RVs are boring to see and inconvenient to drive around. ---
