An epidemic of psychiatric illness is sweeping through North America. Before 1980, a total of no more than about two hundred cases had ever been found in the entire world, throughout the entire recorded history of psychiatry. Yet today, some proponents of the condition claim that it afflicts at least a tenth of all Americans, and perhaps 30 percent of poor people – more than twenty-six million individuals. An industry involving significant sums of money, many specialty hospitals, and numerous self-described experts, has rapidly grown up around the disorder. I was considering starting a thread about this. I have a bit of an interest in it and thought I would ask the opinions of others. ---

## The Simpsons Drinking Game Version 1.5 Created and Thoroughly Tested by Joey Berner The Rules: During the show, every player drinks once/twice/three times (depending on classification) for categories one through three. Every supporting character class is divided by the number of players. Each player chooses an equal number of supporting characters and drinks whenever one of their characters appears on screen for the first time, even if they do not speak. NOTE: Characters can be picked anonymously (names in a hat, etc.) or players can choose their characters. During “The Opening” - drink once every time you see one of the following things: a) The Blackboard b) The Couch gag c) Lisa plays her sax d) Maggie is scanned across the register ($847.63) e) Mr. Burns checks his watch f) Marge runs the stop sign g) Homer screams in the driveway h) The panoramic shot of Springfield NOTE: All the characters/situations marked with an asterisk (\*) are suggestions from Bill Oakley and the staff of the Simpsons. Thanks, Bill! Once: Homer says D’oh! Homer laughs Homer says “Mmmmmm…{food item}” Barney belches Marge growls Maggie falls Anyone on screen is seen drinking an alcoholic beverage (per scene!)
