# Let's say I want to visit the beach soon...

And I don’t want to get coated in oil. Dunno what I might do: go scuba diving, lounge around, eat seafood. Whatever.

My previous vacation plans fell through, but I might have a few days to a week. I’d probably arrive and leave mid-week for easier travel. I can drive anywhere to north florida or thereabouts, and if it’s south of that I can probably fly. So I’m just looking for good destinations. Somewhere less expensive. I don’t have to be next to the beach if it’s not too far.

Fernandina Beach - it’s the first exit on 95 in Florida. Lovely sleepy town, nice beaches, not crowded. Great seafood.

I’ll say this: The diving in Key Largo right now is absolutely spectacular. Room rates are decent, water is warm and vis is nearly unlimited. Come down! Just over 1 hour drive to South Beach if you want to stick your toes in the sand, 2 hours south to Key West and lots of fun water stuff to do here.
