I was just watching a report on Harris’s latest speech and the reporter was saying some in the crowd were chanting: “Lock him up!” Kinda funny, since, unlike Hilary, Trump actually has the NY criminal sentencing date coming up in September where jail time is a possibility, however unlikely. ---

Former politician here - i quit when even i noticed i was a jerk. Agreed. Although some choice ones come to mind, being the high-roader here is unifrying. T rump’s party has been running on a platform of scaring people, promoting hate, and calling names since Raygun. We should hope for better. So don’t ask me to get back in (and i make Biden look awesomely together). ---

Trump hates being laughed at more than anything. That’s why she should casually, every now and then refer to him as Hot Tub Crime Machine. She should never explain what it means either. “It’s just a fun nickname. He likes nicknames. I like nicknames. Who doesn’t like fun nicknames.” This would drive him absolutely insane. “Vice President Harris, do you have comments on Trump’s remarks from earlier today?” “I’ve been traveling, what did old Hot Tub Crime Machine say this time? Do I even want to know?” Stuff like that. ---

My general feeling is that Harris should take the high road in the sense of being more Dorothy Parker and less Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. There are lots of people disgusted with Democrats for running a fogey and with Republicans for running a shitflinging clown. Harris should throw maximum shade, but if she flings shit, she’s going to disgust some of those voters who are also disgusted with Trump, and lose some votes she could easily get. So yeah, reference his felonies, his tax evasions, his hypocrisy, his word salad, his sexual assaults constantly. But dumb nicknames are Trumpspeak. Contrast with him by _not_ looking like a particularly loathsome schoolyard bully. One fun technique might be to use some of Trump’s own words in debates. “[It’s not my opponent’s age that’s the problem," she could say; "It’s his competence](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-mocks-biden-rally-debate/).” Or, after some word salad during a debate (if Trump doesn’t weasel out), “I don’t know what he said at the end there. I don’t think he knows what he said.” Used sparingly, it could be lots of fun. ---
