I’ve noticed that no matter who’s profile I view, they are in my exptended network. I think there are two options, either a “friend” or in your “entended network.” I’ve gotten maybe ten friend requests/messages from porn spammers (Look at my webcam!) in the year-ish or so I’ve had an account. I think it’s a year, anyway, maybe less. ---

Ah, MySpace! Land of 1,000,000 pervs, whores, and and some more pervs. Daily, I get bunches (between 10-30, usually) of messages from creepy guys; some of them are HILARIOUS, so I document them on my journal. As far as I remember, you can just hit the “join this group” button on there. At the most labor-intensive, Bear would have to okay it and I don’t see any reason he wouldn’t. Join us… ---

I have a profile on MySpace solely because one of my friends had one and I am a sheep. I don’t like the interface, but this thread has inspired me to go find some Dopers. ---

IMHO, the bulletins on myspace are abused and used for chain mail. Bugs me to no end. I also get 3 or 4 of those spam invites from people with webcams every week or so. That also bugs me to no end. I very rarely get any of the webcam/porn spammers. I’ve been on MySpace for about four months now, and I’ve had maybe two or three during that time. I get a friend request from a random band every couple of weeks, but it hasn’t been too bad. I wonder why some accounts attract more than others. ---
