Just got tamales from a friend today! Her family is from El Salvador. Banana leaf wrapper. Reasonably large, with (I thought) a good balance of masa and filling. And the filling is the best (we’ve had her tamales before): chicken, and tons of veggies. This one had peppers, green beans, corn kernels, potato (!), and, yes, a green olive. No pit, though.
It’s not a real tomale unless it has a prune stuck on the middle of the outside of it.
