My two implants came to around 13k, including the crowns.

Amount that was covered by insurance: $0.

Worth it? Absolutely.

This is, well, crushing. I think I mentioned this in the O.P.: BOTH times I had a tooth extracted ( same guy ) he asked, " Are you having an implant put in? I need to know now, before I pull it."

Well, fucko, had you TOLD me I’d have bone thinning below an extraction point as time went on and so if I waited I could definitely NOT get an implant then yeah. Screw the cost. Put the …uh…receiving half in right now.

But those conversations did not occur.

I’m pissed over this. In a perverse way, I’m more pissed over those two omissions than I am over a misdiagnosed MRI when I broke my back in Sept of 2000, and man did that do a job on my overall life.

I had to do a bone graft before getting one of my implants and it was far more painful than the implant itself. My face was swollen for a week after.

Unfortunately, based on Cartooniverse’s last post, it doesn’t sound like an option.

Actually, I’ve not discussed a bone graft with any dental surgeon type-a person.

Will do so. And report back.

Man this sucks.
