Let's write a book for the kids -

I’ll start it and everyone who posts can add a couple sentences or a paragraph. Let’s have a happy ending and the lesson learned will be: helping and protecting those in need (unless someone has a better idea).

Refresh before posting so someone doesn’t get ahead of you and mess up the flow of the story, okie-dokie? (Helpful hint: type up your paragraph in Word and then paste it to the thread at the last second). If you have comments put them in the “Subject” line or start a new thread. Thanks.

The initial characters:

Bungee the bunny,
Zippo the turtle,
Milton the meerkat and his little sister, Molly.
Others can be added later as needed.

Location - a volcanic island connected to land via a walkway bridge.

Okay, here we go:

Once upon a time, Bungee the bunny and his friend Milton the meerkat were running through the brush and trees on their home of Moobgib Island. They …

They came across an old path. It was rumored to be used long ago by the Ancient Ones.

“Where does it lead?” asked Milton.

“I dunno.” said Bungee, “Those tracks look like they were made by a turtle. Do you think Zippo is up ahead?”

Milton said “It looks sort of scary on that path. Maybe we should yell out Zippo’s name and see if he comes running, or maybe s-l-o-w-l-y w-a-l-k-i-n-g back, okay?”

“ZIPPPOOOO,” they yelled out. They thought they heard a reply, but they couldn’t be sure.

The noise they heard could have come from their friend, but they weren’t sure.
“They do look like turtle tracks, do you think it’s Zippo?” said Bungee.

Just then, a louder yelp/shriek came from further down the path. “That was not Zippo” trembled Milton.

Around a bend of the path, they heard a scraping, clawing sound that sent cold shivers up their backs.
