I suppose you _could_ view his post, with its lack of substantive response, as a kind of passive-aggressive tweaking, as in “I read your words but they mean little to me, so I post to underline my lack of response” (not exactly unconvoluted, but neither is **Liberal** ), but he’s most certainly not inserting the “personal tragedy” into the argument, because there _is_ no argument. ---

Liberal, it is clear that you have some very serious mental health issues. I really wish all 3 boards would ban you, simply because it is the only way you could truly detach yourself from these situations that allow you to enable your disease rather than fight it. Unfortunately, TPTB here do not have the ethical fortitude to discourage your behaviour. In fact, the SDMB thrives on encouraging the weak and neurotic to be active members; that’s their bread and butter (sadly). You need to go away. You need to stop all this nonsense and work on yourself. The only way that will happen is if you’re banned, which won’t happen as long as you keep “sponsoring” people; or if you \*choose \*to go away. Can you do that? Can you stop posting? Can you work on yourself and your issues and stop with all the melodrama? ---

I have enumerated them here: obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, and panic attacks. But only recently (very recently) have I been _properly_ medicated for these. So although I appreciate your concern, I’m happy to report that I no longer insist that cup handles in the cupboard be turned at 30 degree angles, and that sort of thing. I no longer care. It is amazing what a powerful tranquilizer will do. If I stop posting, what will that do for you? I learned at Domebo why you snark. Same same here when I learned why CarnalK snarks. He does it for the art. But you do it because you believe you have something important to tell people, and you do it through snark because you believe it is the most effective means of communication available to you. That was when I came to respect you. I mean, I’d rather not be the object of it, but at least now I realize that when you do it, it means you give a damn. So, if I stop posting, what will you do? You will have lost one of your favorite objects. Is that what you really want? Surely not. ---

Sorry that it doesn’t link to your post. Regarding your main point, answer a question to my satisfaction, and I’ll do as you suggest. I’ll take a long break. Why is it I who is creating the alleged “drama”? It is not I who is digging up old posts. The first thread I posted here upon returning was in Great Debates, and dealt with a flaw in Obama’s tax cut plan. It was a good debate. I enjoined other debates about the universe and so forth. I opened a thread asking a question in Cafe Society about sea salt, and posted a comment there about Survivor. I opened a GQ thread asking about the possible consequences of uninstalling obsolete versions of .NET. So why is the drama assigned to me? What have I done that has incited drama? Even my posts in this thread are to thank people who supported me, and bring them up to date on our lives (which they are interested in). The only portion of Fenris’s posts that I quoted was the portion dealing with the closing of our OurDawson site. I thought others might be interested in why that site is no longer up, and so I told them. Isn’t it the case, in fact, that the drama comes from the pilers-on? Isn’t it dramatic to say things like “Ya’ sparkle-pretty drama princess.”? Why should the person who is posting reasonable, calm responses take a break while those who are posting like the Wicked Witch’s Munchkins should carry on? Why shouldn’t they take a break instead? ---

There is no question that you are a target. And some folks will simply see “Liberal” and jump all over you. But there is also no denying that you have caused some drama here, on Domebo and on Giraffe. Whether you mean to or not, you “incite” drama wherever you go. I’m sure you know that. You have been doing this for 10 yrs. You can’t really deny that, can you? I still suggest that you take a long break from all the message boards. It would do you a lot of good. ---
