The left certainly isn’t in favor of sprawl. In fact, the left has the best ideas on how to manage growth. I just don’t think attempts to manage growth can succeed except at the margins. If our population grows, we will encroach on more and more undeveloped land. I just don’t think we’ll be able to avoid that.
I wanted the Iraq war to go well. I did not favor what happened. Doesn’t mean as an Iraq war supporter that I’m don’t have a share of responsibility for what went wrong. If you favor more immigration, then the likely results, even if you don’t favor them, are some things you might not like, like falling wages for low skill workers and more development.
This is the best answer in my opinion. Liberals have absolutely screwed the pooch in this respect. Nuclear power is a big part of the answer to the environmentalist movement’s concerns, but the biggest opposition to it comes from liberals.
As I pointed out, this could be the best answer, I also like to crush ideas from posters that are against nuclear power, but there is one item that should not be forgotten when using this as an answer.
It has to deal with the reality that when time comes to vote for a nuclear plant or a nuclear disposal site we get numbers like 80% or more against them, and when there are surveys made, the number of liberals rarely reach over 30% in many states, even if one does not like it, there is clearly a mess of centrists and even rightists that when the time to be counted comes, they vote for good old NIMBY.
