The image I get from **Frank** is that **Liberal’s** introductory post in MPSIMS, is similar to the jaded big city pimp hanging out in the bus station, waiting for the fresh meat from Kansas to roll in, so he can befriend them, addict them to crack and turn them out for profit. He finds this distasteful. I’ll just mention this sort of knee-jerk reaction to a harmless and time honored capitalistic tradition is just another example of **Frank’s** unreasonable and intolerant attitude towards free commerce and the right to self-determination. It is unsurprising considering his attitudes towards Universal Health Care and the Public Option, wherein the insurance companies take on the role of “The Pimp.” **Frank** reveals himself to be a one trick pony as he seldom argues anything other than the “exploitation” objection to gainful commerce, and is particularly ironic in this context. We all know UHC will deny health care to the elderly and the infirm, killing them through triage, and that surely conservatives/republicans are next, but it’s only now that it has been revealed that even the basic “Hi, how are you” of interpersonal commerce is to be proscribed under UHC. Unintentionally then, in this debate, **Liberal** finds himself in the right, pimping for our freedom, turning out the fresh meat of justice, high on the narcotic crack of self-determination, and… I seem to have run out of steam. ---

It was after prayerful consideration and worship (which I define as listening quietly for the voice of God) that I realized one expletive is no better or worse than another. He knows my heart, and there is no point trying to hide from Him. And so now I curse Him openly when I’m angry, because He knows I’m angry anyway and that I’m cursing Him inside. To refrain from verbalizing or writing what He knows I feel would smack of hypocrisy to me. I realize the argument could be made that all I need to do is exercise self-discipline. But the thoughts are still there, and merely pretending otherwise is not being honest with Him. I’m just glad His love is unconditional. Hope that answers your question. ---

This thread might be cathartic for the OP, and if that’s what he’s looking for, great. But if he wants to garner support for his opinion, it’s going to backfire. People who are negatively disposed towards \*\*Liberal \*\*are going to come in here defending him. What’s wrong with a mundane thread in the forum for mundane things? People seem to be enjoying the experience. ---

Are we all supposed to be **Frank**? I belong to a social group, and I’ve known this one particular couple for about seven years now. The last three times we’ve been at a social event together, this couple, both of whom we have sat across from at a dinner table, keep on introducing themselves to us. It’s pretty freakin’ weird. ---

So let me get this right … 1. Is it fair to Pit **Lib** for creating a thread in which he says Hi to a portion of the SDMB world that he rarely spends time in? Meh. Maybe. As **QtM** put it in the thread MPSIMS is the place for the mundane yet some things are too mundane for the forum. Harmless enough of a thing to do though and no one needed to open it up if they didn’t want to. Some one scanning did have fulll warning that **Lib** had created the thread; to open it up and be bothered by the fact that **Lib** had written a harmeless “Hi. How ya doin and who are you?” post seems odd. But Pit away and be not surprised to be mocked yourself along with finding those who agree you. 2. Was it jerky to shit _in_ that thread? Yup. Pit here and link to the thread. Or jerk off to it at some other location. But threadshitting is a jerk’s move. Does that summarize this fairly? ---

I agree that the comment I made in MPSIMS was probably to harsh for that forum. I disagree that it was threadshitting. Threads in MPSIMS don’t always go the way the OP wants them to any more than they do here in the Pit. _shrug_ ---
